Are they equals? I personally find it hard to rank one over the other. Joe had the quicker hands and better punching accuracy; you could also argue that he cut the ring a little bit better than Rocky. Rocky was the harder puncher and could get the job done with either hand. In all honesty, I think Marciano's left hook was just as good as Frazier's when he landed it square on the chin. I think they both had good chins. It's hard to say whose chin was better, but I do believe that Foreman would have blown Rocky out of the park just as he did Frazier. Both men had buckets of heart, determination, and endless stamina (Although I'd give a slight edge to Rocky in terms of endurance) I guess what I'm asking is...who do you think is better if you don't find them as equals to each other?
I think Frazier is marginally better in a best-for-best type comparison, but I think that is a little unfair as Marciano was better for longer. So how do you weigh that? I have no problem with them being rated either way around for greatness. wtf is happening in your avatar?
it is 1 tossup m8 Marciano had a better range of punches and moar, power in either hand, but Frazier was faster and could slip the shots Better . who , the hell knows .
I like Marciano myself, by a slim margin. Not really something I can explain emprically, I just think that he's one of the worst nightmares to fight ever. It's ironic that i'm mentioning that in a thread in which he is being compared to Frazier, because he cleary was too, but that's how I feel. Rocky Marciano might be the last person I'd ever want to share a ring with.
I think Marciano has the better resume. But H2H i have peak Frazier swarm-****ing almost everybody. Physically their attributes are pretty much on par, mentally they're both as good as it gets. But Frazier is better technically and is quite elusive, which sees him doing better against the other ATGs
