NO THE ANSWER IS NOT BECAUSE HE IS A DICKHEAD! SSM often early in his fights uses the tactic of jab the body and throw a big right hand to the head. Why did Jr fall for it?
Void thought he would bomb Mosley out early, so he committed himself to punching and got caught. Mosley had Void hurt, but then suddenly quit punching? Fishy.
Bc it was set up well, Floyd didn't expect it. Shane didn't have a plan B after that though. He tried to box with Floyd the whole time which was not a good gameplan. Should have played to his strengths. He was too over the hill anyway . He was pushing all of his punches and didnt' have the coordination to get to Floyd.
Because, believe it nor, Mosley is a pretty decent boxer besides being a big hitter. Not in Floyd's league as a boxer of course, but he can still land on him every now and then. Plus, Mayweather wasn't getting any younger... during the first few rounds I thought he might have aged over night, but he proved me wrong there.
Mayweather fell for Mosley's jab to the body. Once he found out the he was only using it to set up for a right hand it was over.
Mayweather did it on purpose duh. To trick Pac into fighting him but it still hasn't worked. Kidding.
Because he made a mistake and got clocked on his big steroid induced head. He quickly adjusted though and won every minute after that, so if anything it showed you need more than one trick to beat him and that his ring IQ is phenomenal. Also showed his defence was not inpenetrable, and that if you get that chance to hurt him you better make it count.
Simply because he chose to fight toe to toe with mosley instead of using his normal footwork to set up punches.
I don't remember ever seeing Mosley jab to the body like that before... But, whenever you watch that fight again, watch what Mosley's feet do when he lands that overhand right (ala Johnson KO Jones). He makes the mistake of "falling in" with his feet and allowing the distance to be close enough for PBF to hold. If he would have stayed on balance and kept proper distance(like Hearns would do with his right hands) he could have really had a shot to win. It is just that dude was old, and didn't fight for like 15 months or something, what are we to expect? Also, to be honest, if you look at the next round, you have to give PBF much respect he comes out and plays the aggressor like he rarely ever does. He even threw a lunging lead left hook! If you all remember, Richardson said, "...when we do get to him, I think he is going to grow wings, and start spitting fireballs at us like a dragon..." I think it is safe to say that PBF does have the "Dog" in him. It is just that we never really get to see it because he is a defensive specialist, and he doesn't fight a lot of the top guys he should. Like: Casamayor, A. Freates, K.Tyzu., P. Will., Margarito, Pac, (I also think he should have fought Cory Spinks too).
