Ohhhh Showtime is working on a Welterweight Triple Header for June.

Good cards with even match ups, probably can see one of these fights falling apart or atleast a change in opponents but it would be a nice card if it comes off.

Jones-Brook-Really nice match up between two lower top 10 guys. I've only seen a little of Brook but he looks promising. I lean towards Jones here but I admit that might be because I'm much more familiar with Jones.

Gomez-Malignaggi- Gomez is with Top Rank and Malignaggi with Golden Boy so this fight probably doesn't happen. If it does I'd pick Malignaggi, I think he is capable of outboxing Gomez and I don't think Gomez has quite the power and strength to wear Paulie down.

Porter-Soto Karass-This would be the most exciting fight of the night, it would be pretty brutal in there. I think Soto-Karass is slightly too big of a step up for Porter. I don't know if it would be considered an upset or not but I'd lean towards Soto-Karass here.

Word. I actually dont know how Porter would deal with Karass. Jones who is much bigger failed at brawling with Karass. He got smart the second time around and used his huge frame to outbox him from a distance.
Porter is smaller than Karass so i dont know what type of plan he will implement. Definitely does not want to get in an inside war with Karass.

2011 is shaping up to be good.

 

While it would be nice, I doubt it'll happen for a variety of reasons. One, Gomez is looking to fight in May or June, but against a tune-up level type opponent since he's been out of the ring for over a year, and while Malignaggi is no threat in terms of power, he's not a tune-up level guy by any stretch. He's mentioned that he'd like to fight Malignaggi in the past, and he might at a later date, but it's hard for me to see it as his next fight. Two, I really don't think putting Shawn Porter in there with Soto-Karass would be in any way a smart move from the Porter team. Soto-Karass is too big a step-up for Porter right now, who has decent power but is very raw and has serious defensive liabilities. Putting the current Porter in there with a guy that is very durable, bigger, and throws a lot of punches with decent power himself is a horrible idea.

 

This would be awesome, hopefully with the inclusion of Kell Brook we will get some of the fights shown in the UK. 2011 is shaping up very nicely indeed. If this comes off, just another good thing Showtime have done.

I have been wanting to drop one of the premium packages and Showtime makes it really easy to drop HBO. Only thing is HBO tends to have some good tv series on their channel....

excellent card. i think shawn porter will be tested against soto karass but can come out with the win.

 

this is what boxing needs a really good card, not just a main event

especially since the so called superfights have all been a dud to a degree

Ok, Just got your reply, my bad...had to take my son for his Vaccination Shots. Ok, I just got back from a ban (*****-ass mods) and I saw this on Farhood's twitter prior to my ban...this was only a few days ago.
