Beating Martinez, at a weight he's comfortable with, would be an amazing win. For me, the best of his career.

I'm not sure where it would put him on an all-time list - possibly on the fringe of the top 10.

Glad to know ESB has his own boxing revisionist historian.

Good questions. A win against Martinez @ 154lbs, even more so at a heavier weight, would be his best win since his 10th round TKO win against Morales. Beating Martinez at this point would have better value than a iffy win against JMM and showcase wins against Margarito, Hatton, DLH and Clottey (Cotto and eventually Mosley are good wins, regardless of what Pacquaio's detractors say)

Pacquaio beats Martinez and he moves up to my top 50 ATG list.

    a win @154, no catchweight - top 15
    a win @160, no catchweight - top 10

If pac beats martinez at 160 he gets into the top 5. If he beats martinez at 154 he gets into the top ten.

It is a win win for Pac. Major props for just stepping up, and winning would definitely put him ATG top 15

Huge mismatch. Martinez and Pacquiao are similar fighters stylistically but martinez is massive compared to him. Martinez would easily beat him and martinez would look like a bully.

    Somewhere around 15 maybe.

Martinez is an elite fighter and a legitimate weight jump to 154 would be Pacquiao's best win, and it would be even more amazing at 160. Provided Martinez didn't gas in the 2nd round or something.

It would bump him to about 12 for me.

    Before Pac-Martinez:
Pac won't fight a guy coming off an impressive win.

    After Pac-Martinez:
Pac cherry-picked another old past-prime opponent.

ESB logic at it's best! :rofl

IF he fought and beat him at 154 he would still get alot of credit. I would say top 30.
If he beat him at 160 then definitely higher.

This would be Pac facing someone at their natural weight who seems to be hitting a late prime along with no bad performances or weaknesses. Havent seen Pac face anyone like that since maybe the first MAB or JMM fight.

Things are getting ridiculous IMO, Martinez is too big and a step too far. Not to mention it sets a dangerous precedent for current and future Champions.

    It's like weight-classes don't exist these days.

What the hell is wrong with you losers?

Pac is still not good enough after what he has done?
Can you PLEASE PLEASE name any other fighter who jumped weight classes the way that he did and demolished every competition put in front of him that way he did.

I don't care if it was carefully planned or if they were coming from a loss or whatever shitty scandal you can possibly fathom.
All that matters for me is that they're AT LEAST one time world champions and is a legit threat at the weight class in question.

FFS PLEASE DO NAME AT LEAST ONE FIGHTER WHO HAS DONE WHAT PAC DID.

Now if you can name at least 5 of em, then let's start discussing how Pac is such a fraud and how much he needs a win over Martinez to make him a legit champion.

    Bunch of idiots.

Mark my words you all will regret that you failed to appreciate an ATG when he was still active simply because you were too busy nuthugging.
