He needs to stop crying and prove them wrong then. I can't blame him for quitting against Maidana TBH but it's like he thought he was "too good" to take that punishment which made him come across as a coward. I also heard that he let Peterson bully him and he didn't pull the trigger enough. Ortiz has the talent but he needs to "let it all go" so to speak. No point in having potential if you don't use it.

I liked Devon, thought he was a great talent, but I am through with watching that guy. You want to talk about lacking heart? Check your avatar.... one of the weakest hearts in boxing after what I saw in his fight with Bradley. Alexander was looking for a way out of that fight. He should be ashamed comparing himself with Alexander of Macedonia.

kinda funny how racist this forum is considering i'm a 6 feet tall asian. ortiz did quit but he definately has heart.

 

When people said Amir Khan had no chin, he didn't complain "Stop saying I have no chin", he went out and proved he had one.

That's what boxers do, they let it all out in the ring like their life depended on it.

That is the reason we call Ortiz and Devon quitters and heartless, because they chose the comfort of stopping the fight instead of continuing with the fight and finding out exactly what their physical and mental limits are, even at the risk of being knocked out.

Imagine if Khan quit on the stool after the 10th round. He would've been a laughing stock by now.

 

Quitting in a fight and saying that it's too dangerous is understandable but unacceptable.

He's got no heart in the boxing sense. Same way that people label fighters who gets knocked out with a tap having glass chins.

They are in a profession where people expect more of them. People pay for tickets and PPVs to see them fight. In return, people expect them to fight and give them their money's worth. And as the saying goes, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
