Well i have pretty good stamina can run for 3 miles or so but on the heavy bag i can barely last 2 rounds. How can i resolve this?
Either you just do jogging, or you are not consistent with your roadwork at all. How many times in a week do you do your roadwork? And if you do it consistently, is it just a jog or do you add sprints?
i think i have the exact problem, i think we just jog a little slower than we should and hit the bag like it took our girlfriends lol(this is just my opinion)
Well im jogging at a pretty constent speed all the way....im doin about 4 times a week......Hmm ill try incorporating sprints..... yeah truepwrz i know wat u saying...when i get to the bag im like giving it my all then like next round i can lift my arm and i can barely breathe lol Also wat do yall incorporate into your routine jogs?
you have to build more stamina! wile on the bag u shud pace urself as if u are in a fight. if ur exhausted lower the volume of punches you land but keep moving and jabbing!! if u train hard u will improve all round!
Doing road work is great , and i dont know what you mean about the heavy bag is it your getting out of breathe (which you shouldnt be if your running that much i wouldnt have thought) or is it your muscles are getting tired. Eg i run alot so i never get out of breathe doing any exercise but if i do a new exercise that im not used to then i can still get tired cos im not used to using those muscles. Maybe your muscles on the upper body arnt that strong and you need to work them more. If 2 rounds is all you can do then do 2 rounds hard as possible. Then when that becomes easy increase it. Before you no it youll be doing 4,5 ,6 rounds on there as long as your doing it as hard as you can and your not cheating yourself then its ok in my oppinion. I see the training as more of a competition with myself as im not boxing competitivly .....yet:yep
If your exhausted in a fight and you lower the volume of punches and slow down then you are going to get dominated or k.od. Heavy bag is the place to go as hard as possible and get used to it when you cant get knocked out. If you slow down on the heavy bag everytime then youll do that in a fight. I suggest going your fullest for the 2 rounds you are doing now. As long as you know your doing your hardest possible in that 2 rounds then theres no shame. Soon youll be going your hardest for 3 rounds and so on. Whereas the other guy might have paced himself in his training and then youll out do him in the ring. IM no expert but i dont agree with the above.
Hit the bag. Throw in some sprints(heavybag) and pushups after you hit the big, it will help your arms out..
if you're getting tired thats good, it means you are working hard, the harder you are working in the gym the easier it will be come fight night.
You're probably trying too hard to knock the bag out, focus on technique and relaxed fluid movements and you shouldn't have any problems, don't listen to these guys saying to go mental on the bag. If you're getting tired make sure you are always balanced and not loading up on shots, push the punches out starting the motion with your feet always, don't 'throw' punches.
Erm no one said go mental on the bag , i said you should go as hard as possible (obv while keeping technique) and if you can do only 2 rounds but they were hard rounds then thats better than 4 rounds of easy boxing , because hell get in the ring and be too slow paced.
What do u mean you can "barely last 2 rounds"? Does it have to do with shoulder exchaustion which is very common in beginners? Anyway hit the heavy bag more, make more rounds with less time ps 4 rounds*1.5 minute 1 minute break to build endurance. Skipping helps with shoulders endurance, shadow boxing also. Don't neglect technique. Good luck.
I mean that my arms are getting pretty tired they start feeling heavy and rubbery...if ya know what i mean
Yeh well thats just muscular i know what you mean, youve just got to keep going its like anything really when you first started running did you legs get tired , of course they do cos there not used to it. Same with any exercise you do. At least your not out of breathe. Just keep pushing it and itll come. If its muscular then definatly dont pace yourself like the person above said otherwise how are they ever going to get used to it. Go as hard as you can with proper technique. ( i dont mean punch as hard as possible but work as hard as poss) Itll come i was the same when i first started the heavy bag. I found skipping has really helped:good
