Jones is simply the favorite because of his style and the way he's disposed of his opponents. I compare it to Tyson before he won the title. He was disposing fighters so easily that he mesmerized people. Jon Jones does the same. Jones-Bader/Tyson-Spinks, their first real test and they breezed right through it. Only difference is Jones isn't the champion. People are forgetting shogun and they shouldn't.
Those shots are measured in perfects circumstances where shogun knows exactly what is going to happen. That kick style while very powerful has a step in and a long wind up (i practice this kick btw very powerful even on a much smaller body frame) ,so a lighter faster quick is more effective in most combat situations. Anyway, he is an awesome striker and I see em trying to destroy jones' legs. Then start closing the gap once he is weakened but, staying away from grappling as much as possible. What do you guys think his game plan will be?
It better be sweeps and subs in the early going, because I don't see him being able to keep the fight standing for the first couple rounds. If getting a takedown isn't priority one for Jones at the start, it will be moments in. After feeling a Rua leg kick, or experiencing a Rua flurry, and Jones will be very eager to close the distance.
Thanks for this :good Rua is the man, I hope he breaks Jon Jones leg with 1 of those kicks. War Shogun :bbb
Chimba you really have a lot of faith in your fighter. I remember you saying Jones was going to beat Shogun a long time ago before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. I will be rooting for Shogun, but I like Jones just dont think he is ready for the champion yet. Anyway good luck to both fighters tomorrow.:good
