    As things get ugly after Donaire decided to leave Top Rank for breach of contract (was supposed to be built up on Pacquiao undercards not smalltime PPVs), a legal battle is about to break loose between Arum and new promoter Golden Boy, and that could sideline Nonito for many, many months. That'd be very unfortunate after such a great performance to kick off 2011, and as we're about to get a winner for Showtime's BW Tourney with Abner Mares being favored, a legal battle could KO one of the best fights available in boxing now.

    You can't blame Donaire for making the very move Shane Mosley did and JMM is about to, and that is getting out of the stable that makes the next big fight impossible. Top Rank would never let Nonito fight GBP's Mares or Moreno, and Donaire wants to follow Sergio Martinez footsteps fighting the very best available. On other hand if there's no legal basis for breach of contract by Bob Arum, things will get real messy. I don't have any emotional interest in Donaire, but as a boxing fan, it'd be terrible if he was sidelined because of politics, Nonito earned the right to fight Mares, Agbeko or Moreno as much as Mosley, JMM earned the right to fight Pacquiao. Let them do their thing!

    It would be a damn shame if Donaire is stopped from fight, one of the most exciting fighters in the sports. It's a good sign if he's leaving Top Rank because he wants to get the big fights that they wont allow. Hopefully he gets it all sort, can unify Bantam and move up to face other superstars.

    I thought the same thing when I heard he signed and the reaction from TR.

    GBP is talking about him fighting in May/June but I'm guessing we won't see him until the fall.

    Nonito should never have left Top Rank. He could have fought Agbeko or Yohnny Perez, or Anselmo Moreno at 118 or the winner of Vasquez Jr / Jorge Arce at 122,

    Bring Nonito back!

    Let him run out his contract with Arum for another year and then he can do whatever he wants.

    I think Golden Boy is in the wrong here. Donaire had a good thing going after his amazing victory of Montiel propelled him to new heights, Golden Boy came in with their bull**** and ****ed everything up.

    Donaire made a very bad move.

    But honestly I hope I'm wrong and that Cameron Dunkin did his homework!

    Looking at his options for future opponents and seeing that many of the top guys around between the bantam and feather divisions are with Top Rank i have a feeling that Donaire didnt really think this through, its a move that just doesn make sense unless he gets paid much more by GBP than he would be by TR which i dont think it will be the case.
