    Wrong.

2004 was 7 years ago and he was 201lbs. He was about 24 years old. At 24 you are fully grown, him gaining 70lbs of fat as an adult is just that....gaining fat.

    Solis is a 215lb fighter, 220lbs tops.

I hope the people who rate Solis so highly will be praising VK to the skies when he wins easily.

But we know that won't happen...

Solis has done jack-**** as a professional. His amateur record means squat. So he knocked out a Monte Barrett who took the fight on two days' notice for a paycheck. Big whoop.

Saturday he's going to learn what being a fat, protected, stupid SpongeBob slob means when you are suddenly facing the toughest fighter in the world.:hey

Correct, I really didn't have the years straight. I was thinking more of 2005, where he was 230ish as a Super Heavy amatuer.

I just did a search on a few top heavies.

    Wlad was 242lbs at 24, 247 now. + 5lbs
Vitali was 232 at 25, 246 at around Solis age now. + 14lbs
Lenox Lewis was 231 at 24, 247 at around Solis age now. + 16lbs

    Solis 201 at 24, 271. + 70lbs

Seems being in shape is essential to being a champion.

Comparing Vitali weigh-in pics, his pants are lower down his waist in this shot, which I guess looks less flattering to some. That's the only difference I see. He's in shape like always.

Solis isn't fighting Vitali at 271. And "duh" I have Vitali as a considerable favorite but I don't tihnk Solis is in as poor condition as being protrayed. He doesn't even look flabby in pics. Arreola was even flabbier than Solis but he actually had good stamina and quick hands against Vitali, he just fought "dumb."

Can't believe there are justifications for Solis. He's done well to get down from 270 etc! He's a professional athlete he shouldn't be carrying that excess weight in the first place. At that level would you not have a nutrionist and people monitoring your weight? This is meant to be for the (once) biggest prize in sport and he turns up looking at least 15lbs over a well conditioned weight for his height and frame.

It's not a Mr Universe contest but those names mentioned before such as Holmes and Naz looked in shape just not ripped. Solis looks neither.

It's a sad state of affairs when a guy like Foreman, who was laughed at as being roly poly on his comeback, almost looks like he's in the good shape that people mention now.

I know, I just find it interesting that he gained 70lbs in 5 years, while true champions like LL, WK and VK all kept their weight in check for many, many years.

As for Solis at 247, he looks very soft and flabby, esp for a guy who is only 30 years old and a day away from the biggest fight of his life. It is clear he is not dedicated at all to his sport and has no respect for himself.
