To be honest I would have to watch the fight again. I do remember I had Hopkins winning the fight, but I can't remember if it was by 1 or 2 points.
Did you get your opinion off of the point A Tarver made? Or did you really feel Hopkins won everything from round 4 onwards A Tarver said "It was a great fight. But I dont think Hopkins won the fight. I gave the champion the last round and I think a draw was fair. I gave it to Pascal by one point but it could have went either way" "I understand why Hopkins feels the way he does. Judge the fight watching two fighters. They didnt judge the fight as being a 45 year old man doing what he did. If I had of judged it that way, I would have it for Hopkins going away. But its not about age; Its about the fight at hand. And Pascal was the champion. I dont think Hopkins did enough to take it from the champion"
lol! all right i'll quit crying, but calzaghe's still a *****. and a draw was the perfect call, as i stated earlier.
One of Hopkins biggest critics here. But I have to say - Hopkins won that fight. I've scored it numerous times, and I was struggling to give Pascal a draw even. Pascal was very fortunate to get away with it, I felt Hopkins was almost robbed, in my opinion anyway. There is no way I could have scored this fight as (W) for Pascal, as much as I'd like to. Hopkins should have been given the nod, he edged a close decision for me, by 2 rounds at least.
116-111 Hopkins Hopkins was clowning on Pascal the whole time after KD #2. Literally making Pascal look amateurish. Funny how the scores everyone's posting are narrower and closer than they were the night and day after it all went down.
I don't remember my score card. I had hopkins winning though. After those 2 knock downs I don't think I gave pascal a round.
Wow that is a wide score Did you get your opinion off of the point A Tarver made? A Tarver said "It was a great fight. But I dont think Hopkins won the fight. But its not about age; Its about the fight at hand. And Pascal was the champion. I dont think Hopkins did enough to take it from the champion" Obviously you gave Pascal rounds 1 and 3, what was the other round?
This was a case where winning the fight and winning the scorecards were two different things. Hopkins clearly won the fight, but the two knockdowns created a situation where is was difficult to win the scorecards. I didn't score this fight the way I normally do. Didn't even grab a pen and paper, because I figured it would be another boring Hopkins grab-fest which would end with him bitching about being on the wrong end of a decision. I was only half right.
I cant remember what score i cam up with but i know i had hopkins up by 1 round. Also i thought the knockdowns were also from punches to the back of the head, so if the ref didnt score those as knockdowns (he actually started warning Pascal later on for these punches) the result would have been more one sided. I hope B Hop destroys Pascal via wide UD and that he beats him up.
You would have had Hopkins as a 6 point winner. Are you being honest or is there some bias in your score?
I don't remember my scorecard or anything, but I have rewatched the fight. I had Hopkins winning even bigger the second time through. I don't get how someone could give Pascal the win or even a draw. He didn't do **** after RD3. RD12 was close, but by no means did he win it. I wouldn't be upset with a even RD12.
I ****ing hate Hopkins, so I don't think I was being bias, since that is what you are hinting at. Looking at my scorecard now: 1 and 3- 10-8 Pascal 2- 10-10 draw, as I remember they each landed four punches 4-12- 10-9 Hopkins Indeed three of the final nine rounds were close, but Hopkins still took them. Punch count: Hopkins: 171/445 Pascal: 105/353 I thought Pascal's punches had only minimally more power than Hopkins' (haha, yeah point out the KD's). Hopkins clearly showed much better defensive tact and controlled the pace in terms of movement and exchanges. Acknowledging that boxing is extremely subjective; justifiable, no?
