The dumbest thing is that this all started in the beginning of this year. Maskaev could have fought either Vitali or Peter in April already and the winner would have been able to face whoever was left out by October anyway.
If Peter gets past Maskaev, I would rather see a unification match against Wladimir to determine the Ring Champion (granted Wlad gets past Brewster which is likely). Vitali could face the winner of Chagaev-Ibragimov and then Peter and Vitali could clash if Peter beats Wlad, or Vitali and Wladimir could each have two belts and would both be at the top of the division.
Yes, I would love to see either Klitschko fight Peter, preferably Wladimir since that's one of the more desired heavyweight fights. Since Vitali didn't get the shot immediately at Maskaev like he was supposed to, he can try to get at Ibragimov's belt since he is ranked in the WBO. If he is up to par and his brother happens to lose to Peter, then a v klitschko vs. peter fight for the WBC would be pretty good.
I guess that means that Oleg wont' dump the belt and fight Wlad to unify. Oh well... Anyway, I still look forward to seeing Maskaev vs. Peter. Should be a much more competitive fight than most think.
This WBC-show is a drama. Hell, we could be on the countdown of Vitali-Peter in early September right now, if not this fukcin boxing mafia would take over all the time. Go to hell, *******s:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:!!!!!!
Just read on Russian news that Maskaev indeed refused to sign to fight Peter due to unfair split of 55/45 of the $3.2 mil purse. According to Maskaev's team he is willing to fight Peter but only if the split is a standard one which is 70/30. Peter's team is threatning to sue Maskaev.
Sounds to me like there's more of a competitive battle between Rappaport and King/Duva than their respective fighters could ever present. :blood
