You're making it sound like he's some prodigy who has barely fought. He's old as ****, but he's the most decorated am right now. 7 pro fights DOES NOT encapsulate where he is experience wise so stop acting like he's a some super rookie and its a good thing. Cordoba showed that Rigo has some serious flaws and it's questionable whether he can actually make it as a top pro.

Stop making things up, and stop hating. He beat Córdoba well, the only questionable thing here is your knowledge.

Forreal, that shouldnt have been a SD. Rigo was back peddling and landing occasional pot shots. WTF was Cordoba doing? Just following him around like a mummy. Apparently all you have to do is follow your opponent to win rounds.

The judge who gave the fight to Córdoba must be a thesmokingm's relative.

    i totally agree....

I think Rigondeaux was afraid to get possibly hurt or lose in the big spotlight.... he NEVER took ANY chance in the Cordoba fight.

He needs to let his hands fly, and he'll come out on top at least 85% of the time. People forgive a good loss. People dont forgive a lousy winner...

Great shots , as was expected it was fast , Rigo seems more agresive , he should fight Donaire soon , Donaire's been complaining about how nobody wants to fight him so he'll problaby will have to move up , etc , well now he can fight Rigo . Peace .

You are right, Rigo has about 450 fights, 150 of them in the most important international amateur competitions. I think most people don't value this fact correctly.
The true is that he is a profesional boxer since his 12 years old, no matter he never fought for money in Cuba. He defeated a lot of future world class pro boxers in their amateur carrer.
People think that he is simply a counter puncher and this is not true. I watched him destroy very good boxers in few seconds, didn't giving them any chance to doing nothing.
The fact is that no one wants to fight Rigo at present, thats the reason he was fighting in Ireland.
He is strongest, faster and technically better than all the SBW boxers. You can see carefully each of his fights, see his legs and hands synchronization, and all the technical details, Rigo is a real master and is among the better amateur fighter of all times. That's not negligible thing.
After his fight with Cordoba he understood what to do to shine in the pro boxing and no doubt he has all he need for doing it.
Sorry, but I think you are wrong about the fight with Cordoba. Rigo won that fight by a wide margin, it was proved later when Cordoba team asked the WBA a revision of the fight . Then 3 important judges of the WBA watched and scored the fight again and in their opinion Rigo have won by UD and by big margin.
By the way, Cordoba didn't was a real test for Rigo because Cordoba is far from the Rigo's class, very far. If WBA would have accepted the rematch that Cordoba wanted, Rigo would have won this fight as easily as he defeated Casey.
Rigo is already is a great boxer. He don't need to demostrate nothing to himself right now because he is fighting for almost 20 years, and also he is very known to the experts. He only need fight, as soon as possible, with most important SBW boxers and after that go to the featherweight division and dominate also there.

You should go to a boxing seminary, boxing is not about just throwing bombs, Rigondeaux won 5 out of the first 6 rounds and them just made Cordova the professional follow him around, he hurt him again in the 11th and gave him a lesson in the 12th, Cordova was not engaging and he was losing the fight.

Rigondeaux amateur record 374-12, but you guys have to b consistent does the amateur experience help you in the pros, or the pros are a different kind of thing? You just can't chose when to employ and how to use the Cubans amateur background, by the way do you know that all the Cubans fighter are teenagers or barely out of their teens when winning World, olympic etc.. Gold?

most top am fighters are really good pros and the Cubans have the most experience

    Dont get it twisted

a case of a gold medal winner being a really poor pro like for instance fraudley Harrison is the exception to the rule
