Thoughts on Solis vs. V. Klitschko?

Funny, but Solis reminds me of a cross of both "Jimmy Young and Jason Estrada."

Klitschko is too big, strong, powerful and great for these dude's of today.

Funny to think how both of these men cashed in against Klitschko, tired from the many years of boxing in the amateurs.

 

I thought Klitschko would have stopped him , but not so fast.
Another mismatch exampling the need for a superheavyweight division.
I honestly think that if Valuev was more motivated (i.e. less tentative of killing / seriously hurting other men) then he would have trained more seriously and could beat both Klitschkos .

Slow overweight fighter with zero head movement = predictable result.
Solis will now dissapear along with Sosnowski.

 

I have a question for anyone in the know. What changes did these guys make to their training schedule. Did they train harder, The same or less than they do now as professionals. Or is there a big change in the type of training?

That was like watching the Klitchsko fight on fast forward. Is it the weight lifting that slowed them down, or were they pacing themselves for the longer fight? Both Solis and Ibragimov (to me) looked far more impressive at this weight. Maybe the key to challenging the Klitschkos might lie in plucking an amateur champion straight into a title challenge Pete Rademacher style?

 

Solis went to the US, got paid and stopped caring about a sport he never truly had love for.

 

It certainly looks like this, but as a professionally surely he must have trained harder than as an amateur?

And Seriously, maybe the key is getting some younger amateurs and throwing them to the wolves before they lose their hunger?

 

I believe some of us mentioned this before hand?

This is one of the most overanalyzed fights I can remember. Solis took an awkward step and his knee snapped. If you think a grazing shot by Vitali had something to do with it, that's fine, but it's still a freak accident and totally unsatisfying ending. Had Solis' knee not given out, the fight would've continued as if nothing serious had happened.
