Loved the way Solis was fighting Vitali

I agree about one thing. The gameplan was very good because IT WAS WORKING, but Solis can't execute it, at least not in his current shape

 

He waited for Vitali to lower his level and would throw fast combos a smart strategy his hands were always up forcing Vitali to throw odd looping body shots

he had a good strategy but I dont think he could do it for 12 rounds plus round 1 is usually the round Vitali will lose if hes gonna lose a round

 

or at least not against Vitali

Vitali adjusted pretty well. Feinting Solis to lunge in then stepping back and popping him with a counter.

 

and there was a moment earlier in the fight where Solis dove in and ducked like he did when he hurt himself

"B-b-b-but Tyson was shot when he lost to Williamz!!1". Well yeah, he was. However, Klitschko being almost 40yo defeating an Olympic Gold medalist in round 1 while not looking as good as he used to didn't keep you from apply ridiculous triangle theories between fighters of different generations.

 

Its not ridiculous just based on styles, I think vitali is very good and I think its awesome how dominating he is at age 40. But some guys peak later then others, example: his little brother, tyson peaked early the guy that fought williams was indeed a shell of his former self.
Staying like vitali always in shape and even when on the decline winning because of a great ring iq is great, same way hopkins is great.
Last night was a weird fight but in the end it says vitali ko1 so he got the job done, the end justifies the means:bbb

 

Vitali is extremely tall, can jab and clinch well and would outmuscle Tyson, and he can take a punch. That's a recipe for disaster in Tyson's career. Even some of the guys who he beat (see: Quick Tillis for example) gave him hell stylistically while being inferior. I see Vitali outpointing Tyson.

Nothing Solis was doing was reminiscent of Tyson.

 

I'm about as big a Tyson fan as you will find, and was watching Mike when he was in his prime.

That said, Vitali would have given Tyson fits because of his enormous size and his ability to use his size on defense (lean back away from punches). Additionally, Vitali has a great chin. So, even if Tyson hit him once or twice, there's no assurance that would do enough. Think of the uppercuts Lewis hit Vitali with (which Vitali couldn't see coming because of the eye); Vitali shrugged them off.

Vitali is not a good match-up for Tyson. He's not a good match-up for anyone, actually.

I'm not saying Tyson couldn't or wouldn't beat Vitali. But I think you might be making this out as an easier fight then what it would really be.

 

Solis had the right game plan, put not the physical conditioning to execute it. Watching his previous fights, he doesn't use outside fighting. So i found it strange he was backing off on the ropes...

Solis's gameplan was apparrent from the start. He had some success in the first couple of minutes with it but Vitali was pretty much wise to it towards the end of the round. It was once Vitali was wise to Solis' tactics infact that he suckered him in and landed that counter...admittedly it didn't look that devastating but **** happens., only Solis really knows what happened as regards to wheteher or not that punch did really shake him up.

 

Solis was making easy work of Vitali. very unlucky to have injured his knee.

 

He lost live with it.........Vatali won he gets the W and Solis lost...........

 

He was potshotting for 150 seconds then was wobbled and went down on the first punch that landed :deal

 

He has looked awkward and clumsy for awhile. That's just his style. The age has him slowing down more, though, which only makes it look worse.
