i think he needs to be more active, he wasting a lot of time if he's not injured.

fighter i really like - when you think he was in with super middle weights in the contender he took a real risk entering that and it really paid off

Why would you want "The Matthew Hatton" of USA/Mexico to fight Matthew Hatton?

it would be a good measuring fight to see where he's at compared to alvarez.

Gomez always fought with a ton of heart, with limited abilities. He certainly doesn't deserve to get bad-mouthed. He made a hell of a career off of what he did on the Contender and after. Gomez v Hatton would be an interesting scrap.

He tore some ligaments in his left elbow while training for the Chavez Jr fight and is still on the shelf, he was hoping to fight on the Gonzales/Vargas card that just occurred Saturday, but his elbow was still not completely healed as of a few weeks ago. He's hoping now to fight in May or June on a small card against a "get the ring rust off" type of opponent, though again it depends on the state of his elbow around that time frame.

And he would beat Matthew Hatton. He's better technically, faster, and Hatton has no punching power. Gomez isn't a huge puncher by any means himself, but Hatton throws absolute slaps in there. Hatton would be game all the way but outclassed.

As a person, a nice fella and a credit to boxing

He has built his carrear on the back of the Contender and finished off legends when they were shot. (Gatti and Castillo)

Make no mistake, he is an exceptionally average fighter and I think a fight against Matthew Hatton would be an interested matchup as they are both C class fighters.
