rigged? no. Ray won the rounds which he needed. 118-110 was ridiculous scoring by Jo Jo Guerra ( I think that was his name). but otherwise, fair scoring. Hagler did not win the rounds he should have. Ray was just too quick and studied Hagler for so long, and also got a rusty older Hagler. Hagler was a little shopworn from his last two fights with Thomas Hearns and John Mugabi.

That is one of the strangest scorecards ever.

Guerra scored it as though he found out Angelo Dundee had secret photos of him messing with kids...still, he got the right winner (despite those paedo tendencies).

yes it was a rip-off . vegas bookies/casino's smelt a lot of money to be made if leonard won and as hagler was probably going to retire anyway after the leonard fight .

Kind of cheap to buy off just one judge, though, don't you think? The other two scorecards were both very reasonable.

It was in Las Vegas,,,,,,,,,and as always were looking for a rematch and future fights
    with Ray Leonard,,

    A) who was a bigger box office cash machine
    B) and Hagler was planning on retiring
    C) Guerra was a Mexico real estate agent, who for some reason scored style over
    substance,,,,,,,,strange coming from a Mexican,

I am still not convinced that you take a champs belt with that kind of a squeeker win... 118-110 is just a travesty, absolutely blind...Hagler tried really hard to get SRL back in the ring, wasn`t happening. So he just walked away from boxing. I just feel that you have to BEAT the champ to take it...

Always felt that Leonard won the fight, 116-112 or thereabouts. 118-110 is bizarre.

Hagler just didnt perform, although Leonard never hurt him he was out-boxed over the 12.
