Anyone want to tell me these are genuine knockdown punches?

Solis made a herculean effort to rise. You can actually see him putting strain on the injured knee, probably only doable because of the adrenaline. It is very possible that he made it considerably worse by trying to continue.

 

The weight was too much for it I guess.

 

I feel sorry for Solis, he was winning that first round and managing to outbox Vitali, few have done that. Then he landed bad on his knee twisting it and putting him out of action, end of his challenge. We could have had a seriously good HW fight for a change. He's a laughing stock now, but if his knee didn't give way he seriously may have pulled off the shock win

 

Definitely genuine. This thread starter seems idiotic to me. Vitali was being a bit of a **** there imo.

 

News reports confirm its serious injury. I doubted at the time. But damn, Solis was finding his target. Could have been a half decent fight.

 

I don't think it was a clear KD punch Bouchjer, what people don't understand though is its where you get hit and if you aren't warmed up you can lose your equilibrium easier.

I still don't think the punch caused a stoppage though, I think he twisted his knee before or after the punch. Still the knee would be more flexible if he'd done months of roadwork

 

The punch didnt cause him to go down, blowing out his knee did. Maybe if he wasnt a fat whale he wouldnt have blown out his knee.

 

I said you're being idiotic, that was in reference to your comments about everyone being suckers who paid to watch it. Also, until you've taken them punches you don't know if they were enough to put him down. One thing I seriously think is that, for whatever reason he went down, whether it was because of the force of the blow or because of his knee, I believe 1000% that he was not faking. Just watch the vid. And Vitali was being a **** the way he acted at the end.

 

He got buzzed and twisted his knee as he went down...which was his original story until his people probably told him to "shut the **** up and let us spin." I agree that his weight most likely contributed.

The possibility of a torn meniscus and a ruptured cruciate ligament exists. “I thought he was looking for a way out at first,” Klitschko told the media. “But now that the doctors confirmed his injury, that’s off the table.” His coach Fritz Sdunek added: “Solis was hit, went down and hurt his knee. We can’t change anything about that. That happens.” Solis’ promoter Ahmet Öner explained: “He has a serious knee injury and probably tore his ligament. He has to get surgery. This is very disappointing for us. Solis had a good start


And after probably having a long talk with his people....a completely different spin.


“I was just unlucky,” says Solis. “I didn’t even feel the shot that he landed on me and it certainly did not take me out. I felt that there was something wrong with my leg and I lost my balance. When I went down I knew immediately that there was something wrong. I promise that I will be back soon and even stronger — if I get a second chance I will win the title.”

 

When interviewed after the fight, Solis said the injury happened during the knockdown..after the punch. He changed his story the next day. You can believe what you want, but it looks like damage control to me.
