I feel for boxing fans in general. The HW division is the least competitive in boxing.

The HW scene has soft, low-level contenders & bland, boring champions.

The HW division used to be the most important with great characters & talents with different styles.

Having said all that there are some signs of life & good matchups this year.

Wow, good post Jack! Unbiased solid observation. And I agree as well. Its unfortunate that usually fighters can only fight to their level of opposition. I hoping to see a good fight, a good challenger in Solis and some of that old Vitali magic. Unfortunately Solis looked like a scared puppy pulled a Cintron. This shouldn't reflect Vitali badly, but to the general public it does. I wish someone would that this ish seriously and give the K-Bros a challenge, we would finally get to see their greatness, but instead we get disappointment. Can't fault the Bro's tho, they can only work with what is put in front of them. And it will truly be a sad division when they retire. Oh well, at least my mate Ricky Hatton is still fighting, wait, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF**************CCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you missed my point entirely, but let me just expand on this.

The problem is, the Klitschko's need to beat worthy heavyweights for their legacy. I'm not making a point that "Frazier would destroy Wlad, Foreman knocks out Vitali in 2 rounds" or whatever, what I am saying, is that fighting greatness is the only way to secure a legacy. I think it's a shame that there aren't any high calibre opponents for the Klitschko's to fight. Honestly, Haye will probably go down as Wlad's best win, if he retires after beating Haye and what does that say about his career when people in this thread are saying how unproven and untalented Haye is? It's a shallow record.

I think both brothers could have a much better legacy, but the fact is, the opposition isn't there for them to prove it. That's my point.

:lol::lol: Who was winning the 1st round over Vitali better before the injury happen? Solis? Or Sanders?? If you pick Solis then don't come back to esb.

:huh I had Vitali easily winning that round.

Yes in the first minute or so Solis landed to right hands, that did nothing to Vitali. He usually takes round 1 off to feel out his opponent and get his timing right. If you noticed in the last minute of the round Vitali's trademark left jab/hook was landing with ease and Solis didn't like it. He landed two pawing right hooks that seemed to hurt Solis. If it continued Vitali would have timed him, t-d off with the left and followed with the right, and KO'd Solis in the mid rounds. Solis pulled a Dirrell the other night...

On the whole, it's a good thread

I just wish they had taken less money and given Haye his shot.

The way they negotiate is ridiculous, they need Haye to touch up their resumes. When you look at it, Hide and Sanders are their best wins....

I think the impressive win was beating Peter. Since then, I don't really know if he's added to it. However, had Wlad beaten Gomez, Arreola and Solis, he'd have a much better record.

At this stage, this double headed world champion we have, isn't helping either mans legacy and it's certainly hurting Wlad's, I think.

I have a little theory of my own about the Klitschko brothers.

So the quality of HW opponents is limited. (Haye,Adamek, and MAYBE Povetkin are about it) Well, I think the best thing for the Klitschko's to do is to just keep fighting and fighting and fighting. Basically rack up their records until either a.) someone, somehow defeats them b.) they get too old to box anymore.

I really think Wlad has the potential to go like 80-3 before he retires. Not sure about Vitali, maybe 50-2 before he gets too old.

Vitali an wlad are just to great, to over come there skills is hard to do, you have to have luck on your side, maybe they look past you, you get a cut on them, they gas out, they come in with a injury an you with stand there beating till there pre-fight injury is to much to pain to go on, you need a outside force to beat there greatness, vitali with one eye was beating up a ATG in lewis. You don't need to FEEL for the klitschko's as the OP said, but admire how easy they make it look. I mean come on vitali just broke a guys leg with a punch to the head, :good

The problem is though, who is available for Povetkin, Boytsov, Helenius and Pulev? Who can they beat, so they are considered good heavyweights?

Let's say each of those fights two fighters and then fights Wlad, which two fighters are going to make them credible opponents?

    Povetkin - _____ - _____ - Klitschko
    Botsov - _____ - _____ - Klitschko
    Helenius - Peter - _____ - Klitschko
    Pulev - - _____ - _____ - Klitschko

You fill in the blanks there.

The problem is, even if these guys are talented, there's no way of proving it because all the fringe contenders are so ****. When the Klitschko's inevitably beat them, history won't regard them as good wins because they are so unproven.

Haha, that's true. Annoying habit, I guess.

But I'm glad you agree ;)
