Anyone want to tell me these are genuine knockdown punches?

He always is, the way both him and wlad act at pressers sometimes makes me want to kick them in their irradiatied ukranian nuts

 

How do you gauge this though? What is there to say? **** happens, it was a first round stoppage, nobody is to blame, it happens. There's no guarantees when you buy a ticket or a ppv that you're going to see any type of drama or classic action.

What did i say about the punches? I haven't said that they were powerful. I said Solis wasn't acting. Forgive me for thinking this is what you were implying. If that's not the case then fair enough.

I never said Vitali is a **** in general, I've got nothing against either Klitschko. I said he acted like a **** in this instance. I don't even see how this can be a point of debate. Grazing blows have knocked men down **** loads of times, the fact is he hit him with a grazing blow, dropped him, he clearly tried to get up and was having trouble, and then Vitali flipped out like a mad man and tried to get at him. What the ****? He doesn't seem a **** in general, just here. It happens to the best of us. Peace:good

 

Depends if the translation actually said that. Either way if you watch the clip you can see the right knee give way before he stumbles back and then he holds his knee as soon as hes down.

 

I think they certainly would have if the knee didn't gvie way, I think it was shaping up to be a fascinating contest

 

I've seen it from the perfect camera angle now, VK grazed his hair with a righthook, then followed-up with a jab which was blocked.

Those punches had no power behind them. Clearly his knee twisted badly & was in poor condition already due to his weight problems, not the weight he was that night, but all the times he spent being horribly overweight.

-I have watched many clips from different angles, my opinon has not changed. Looks like his knee got twisted under him as he went down. It was certainly a flash knockdown though, he wasn't that hurt from the punch, just looked like he lost his legs. Weird knockdown but it happesn, reminded me of that delayed Roy Jones/Tito knockdown.

 

I'm not 100% but it looked like a knee blow out to me and it did twist before he stumbled back and he landed on his ass not his knee. A pity from everyone involved, Vitali included. If Solis was in better shape it may not have happened, but a freak injury none the less. The sad thing is Solis looks to be a talented fighter but I'm not sure where he goes from here

 

i think thats about right. and a reason why ohner wants to make it seem like a accident when it is a bit more of a tko/retirement.

i think he hurt it when he got caught and his knee went out byt that right hand then didnt help matters by practicacly sitting on it.


reminded me of mcline - valuev to add to the early bad breaks, after mcline looked like he was on his way to a good boxing display.

 

PP, does it really matter where Solis goes from here?

I don't think he'll ever get into decent shape as a Pro, he'll always be too overweight to make waves (other than in the swimming pool). :verysad

 

-Yes, he landed on his ass after taking an odd tumble backwards with his legs twisting everywhere. I do recall his legs wobbling before the fall, but that wouldn't necessarly mean a knee injury, he also grabbed his head after the punch landed like he got buzzed and was shaking it while holding his knee on the canvas. I will have to rewatch though, memory already getting blurry. Yeah, a freak injury either way.

-Solis was doing well, most of his punches were missing but so was Vitali's. Have to say I was impressed with the way Vitali was going to the body early, don't see that often. I too hope Solis can rebound and keep cutting the weight, would love to see him mix it up with Arreola, Peter, and Chambers.


Gif of the punch from Larry Merchant on General lol I've seen worse looking but Vitali got a full swing and Solis moved right into it, twisting his neck a little awkwardly to the side there. Definetly a plausible stun punch.

Sometimes when you get hit you need to readjust your feet under you to get balance and it could have twisted then. I know the punch landed but there really wasn't anything on that shot Vitali doesn't have any of his body under it

Either way technically it'll go down as a TKO but to all intents and purposes it's pretty much an NC, which I'm sure grates the Vitali fans but then again they do like proclaiming 'Vitali only ever lost by injury', so what's good for the goose....

 

-He got his hips into it for sure, full torso rotation. Enough to knock his head the opposite direction of his moving body. I could dip like that into a door knob or something and stun myself, let alone a big arm swinging at me.

-Nah, its like McCline/Grant or Oleg/Jefferson, fair enough stoppage. :huh Kaaay just calling it like I see it. The only out there theories I've seen are from the Vitali haters..claiming Solis took a dive or denying the punch even landed at all.

 

I agree, the key is he was hit and rattled, It was the 1st decent punch Vitali threw and the temple in the 1st rd had an affect on Solis, It was the punch that ratted Solis and caused his knee to wobble in an awkward way...even though Solis landed 3-4 punches early it was Solis that went bo-legged once tagged....Its a KO in 1 for Vitali....I see a longer than expected 2nd title shot for Solis, he will have to beat someone coming off a 1st rd. KO loss

 

This is my first time seeing this. Solis was looking awesome in there.
