What next for Brian Magee??

Shame he didn't find Bute's body a little more. That was the hallmark of his impressive display against Larsen. He seemed very worried about going downstairs because of Bute's speed and counterpunching ability. He did not want to put his hands down there at all. He became a bit predictable with the headhunting.

I guess he'll just come back to European level now and make some decent money to wrap up his career. No disgrace in what he's done, he's the textbook European level fighter and a good one. Not one of these fraud types. He's like Maludrottu, fought world class guys and came up short but didn't get embarrased doing it. But at Euro level he's likely to be excellent.

 

Agree...He gave a good fight to Bute...Many before the fight were saying that he was a bum but I was one of those who defended him...I knew he would put on a good showing but he still lasted longer than I tought because of his great heart! He lost but he can hold his head high...:good

 

:good too right man.cagey veteran with good skills,magee would be a great test for either of these guys to see what level they are at on return to the top tier at super - middle. he aquitted himself very well againt bute but those body shots were sickening.dont know how the man stood up 2 them so well and for so long.real warrior this guy

 

Magees last 2 defeats has been against World Class fighters in Froch and Bute. DeGale or Groves are not up to the standard yet to fight Magee and I think Magee takes both easy.

See what comes from the chances of getting 1 more World title shot. I cant see him drop back down to Prizefighter level or British hes a bit too classy for that. Now if he fights on 1 warm up fight then look at fighting a contender or elminator fight. If a World title fight comes his way again he should take it.

I don't think that Degale's promoter would put him in with him at the moment, there is far to much potential to derail the show...:yep

I personally think that Chunky has the ability to give Magee a tough fight and dare I say it, even stop him...:think

Magee is very much in the European/ Alphabet belt mix, he may have found his level at the attempts at significant World Class opponents, but he is a very credible challenger to any Champion...:good

 

Brian Magee might well go down as one of the wasted talents of British boxing in the last 15 years along with Audley Harrison and Michael Gomez, had so much potential yet never really lived up to it.

Fighting for his first world title at 36 years old, ridiculous!!
