Yes but you have to take into account the decline of boxing in some of the more traditional Euro nations France Italy and Spain have very little depth in their domestic scenes now and Polish Russian fighter Eastern Euro and to some extent German fighters all seem to avoid the Euro route now

Which division is worse right now?

 

Super Featherweight.

Arguably Heavyweight aswell.

 

Id put superfeather on par although that could become good again as lower div fighters move up through the weights. The heavies have got the klits haye and adamek who are easily p4p better than anyone in tbe cw division

 

Cunningham is arguably near the Top10 P4P, Lebedev is a very capable fighter and he beat Huck but was robbed, Yoan Pablo Hernandez is a very good up and comer, highlighted by his comfortable victory over the quite competent Steve Herelius. Guillermo Jones, though hideously inactive, is also a very classy operator.

Super-feather is much, much worse than cruiser, as is heavyweight. Strawweight is also quite poor in terms of the depth of the division.

 

holding the european belt lately does not make you "european level"...willie casey wasnt european level IMO, big Aud held the european belt ffs and magee's last Europ belt challenger before Bute was hardly european class

i think Khan-McCloskey will be similar to magee-bute

 

So you would rate cunningham and lebedev above the klits and haye for example? And Im not sure what cunningham has done to be ranked close to the p4p top ten although he is one of the few world class fighters in the cruisers.

 

Do you not think that the depth of the division must be considered? There's plenty of good fighters at cruiser, certainly more than heavyweight. Look at Cunningham's resume, he's beaten plenty of top fighters in his weight division. He's certainly more deserving of a place than most of the guys people consider to be on the periphery of the top 10.

 

Ok fair enough. Outside top four or five fighters i dont know much about it, so if its competitive throughout the top ten thats different.

 

not euro level.he beat a domestic rival,paul hyland towin the strap after kiko martinez pulled out injured. he should have gone after jamie arthur,jason booth and the like to show himself where he really was at.he was thrown 2 the wolves with rigo but in fairness he wanted the fight

 

Tbh i recently noticed the standard of European title fights have been pretty low.

Plenty of vacant title fights with guys pulling out and late replacements coming in. Fighters who never won European titles would of loved to have opposition some have faced of late.

I think there's fighters holding/held European titles who would struggle with there peers domestically so i think the gap is big. Although it's the fighter that makes the title nowadays.

 

Caseys title may as well have been the Irish title it was vacated and the 2 irish fought for it,

Euro level does not mean the best in Europe

It does nto even mean best in Europe in your weight excluding current or former champions

Its vacated way too easily
