Valuev hasn't fought in 18 months. He's off the radar screen.

Yeah, I kept telling people that you don't look dazed and confused from popping out your knee.

That is something but not totally surprising about Ahmet Oner. What a sleazeball.

Boente said Vitali is back in June fighting a "big name," but that's all I have heard.

I still wouldn't mind seeing him face the likes of Chagaev, Chambers or Tony Thompson who of course all lost to his brother.

I want him to retire, not because i dont like him, in fact i think hes been a credit to boxing since his return, but with him gone we finally establish the undisputed heavyweight champion, once and for all.

Yes, given that Haye is already taken, assuming Wlad gets him as seems to be the plan, Valeuv is the only other fairly big fight left for Vitali.

I also think Adamek would sell pretty well, though.

Vitali is four months away from hitting 40, and still dominates everyone.

How many champions can say that?

no i too believe he's declining like crazy, but maybe i rate him, better than you do.

vitali from the williams, johnson and sanders fights was a fuking beast. vitali now is just a good champ.

Whatever you say. I can't see it, nor can the endless string of contenders hes either KOing, TKOing, or thoroughly outboxing.

When VItali has lost about 5 of a 12 round fight, and still wins, that'll be decinline for him......... He dominates, and anything less is declining, he's held to such high standards.

But so far, he's not declined enough for it to show much, if any at all.

If he were to keep fighting til he's about 44, then we'd finally have some competitive fights to see. But with him 39, no way does anyone threaten him.

perhaps i rate him more than you do, but i believe the vitali from the early naughties was a guy with potential to be one of the heavyweight goats.

vitali from now isn't even the best of his era.

"Declining" means one is losing his abilities.

Whatever little Vitali has lost physically he now makes up for in improved strategy and experience.

In some ways, he's even better now: he measures distance better after working informally with Manny Steward, and he takes a lot less punishment than he did in the days of the Lewis and Sanders fights.

Thompson or Chambers would be harder fights for Vitali than they were for Wlad in my opinion. It's all about styles & both of them are actually good boxers even if they aren't the biggest punchers.
