Ali was loud, black, successful, even a Muslim- a religion which makes many Americans feel uncomfortable. Yet, Floyd will never be as loved as Ali. NEVER.

It's probably because Floyd is black. :patsch

Floyd acts like a villain/thug/jackass in front of the media. *****s themselves are saying that its just Floyd being Floyd and that being a villain is his marketing strategy... Why are you even wondering if people hate him?? :huh

What is it exactly that makes you hate someone so much that has never done anything to you and who you don't even know.

Ali wasn't loved until decades after his career and most of that is sympathy because people now see him as a poor trembling old man.

As a boxing fan, I care more about what the fighters do in the ring than what they do in their freetime.

MIke TYson, Joe Louis, SUgar Ray Robinson, FLoyd Jr, etc beating up girls in their freetime has no bearing on the integrity of the sport. YOur boyfriend margarito putting plasters into his gloves does.

This from the guy who thinks Mosley is less black or an uncle Tom cause he doesnt act like an idiot going around beating bitches up and throwing racist tantrums on the internet,or cause he isnt addicted to pedicures or wears man purses and all that ***git **** Floyd does on a regular basis.

You're doing to Mosley the same thing you accuse others of doing with Floyd.

I think that beating women = plaster gloves. They are both wrong, however mayweather has not been convicted of beating a woman, yet he has already been crucified by the media.

indeed, it was only after ali was a drooling sack that anybody liked him as a personality. Forget multiple time magazine covers in his era, advertisements, constant tv exposure on a global level for two decades of his career. Everyone hated muhammad ali. Even howard cosell.

I agree that Mayweather acts like an *******, and most people including non boxing fan blacks don't like that ****. A lot of us shake our heads. Playing the villain is his bread and butter though.

Just FYI - Many times Floyd actually gets outweighed by fight night. If I'm not mistaken Baldomir was somewhere near the 160 mark. Old fighters should be judged on their most recent performances. So if Pascal beats Hopkins, he gets major credit. Had he beaten RJJ, that would be different.

Great fighters and exciting fighters can be completely different people. Gatti, although he was a highlight reel, wasn't the most skilled fighter. Not to take anything away from fighters like him but it's easy to move forward and throw a ton of punches, which according to you, is considered entertaining. It's not so easy mastering the art of dodging and slipping punches. The real question is - why should defensive masters be unappreciated?

I don't know the details of the recent information about $100 million. But if that number is the total amount put in the pot, I don't see anything unreasonable about it. Each fighter could stand to make 50 to 60 million and that's not outlandish considering the magnitude of the fight and the fact that both guys are the top cash cows in the sport. Of course if Floyd is asking for the entire $100 million win or lose then that's certainly asinine. Nobody should even consider giving him that much unless it's a winner-take-all situation.

Absolutely. I'm not speaking for every single white or black person but overall, white people have a different culture than black people.

And You're leaving because you lack the intelligenc to carry on a rational meaningful conversation about this topic.:hi:
