He might have been criticized for some of his views but he was loved nonetheless. In the Philippines, they even built a mall in his name in 1978.

Even if what you say is 100% accurate, Floyd won't follow in Ali's footsteps as far as popularity. He just doesn't have the same charisma and exciting fight style that Ali had. He's just a douche and an annoying fight ducking fraud and people can see right through him. I can't speak for everyone, but I bet 95% of people who hate Floyd don't hate him for his skin color. If that was the case everyone would hate Tyson as well who's actually done more henious things than Floyd and is black. People dislike Floyd because he's a jackass. Everything else plays into his assinine personality scenario.
