    Lennox was 38 at the time of the match, and had been knee deep in the boxing game sense '83. He had nothing left to prove, it was the perfect time to retire and he did the smart and rare things. BTW one of the all time greats.

    Lewis is so very lucky his promoter signaled his doctor to signal his referee to stop the fight on a cut because Vitali would have knocked him out in the very next round. Lewis did not like his badly broken nose. Lewis turned down his biggest payday ever. Vitali badly staggered Lewis, Lewis was holding on to Vitali to keep from going down at the end, flopped down on his stool and was finished. He knew he was luck. Angelo Dundee said that Vitali was cheated out of the WBC title that night!
