How far could he have gone?

the HW champ belt is probably his biggest accomplishment.

    He should of retired aftwards.

What ??? How far could he have gone??

    He was undisputed at LH.

Before he went up he was Superman , nobody would have touched him .

He wouldnt be fighting now and would win every fantasy fight in history.

    Great fighter.

Although he may not have fought the BEST opposition pre-heavyweight, I've never understood how people think he was "exposed" and he wasn't as good as originally thought. He was what, 35 at the time of his first real Loss. How many boxers who have boxed there entire lives make it to 30 let alone 35 without there diminished skills? Anyway I'm just ranting.

I think Jones would have whooped Tarver and Johnson if he had fought them pre-heavyweight or at least sometime in his early 30's. I agree though that at that point, winning a heavyweight belt was the greatest feat he could have accomplished.

meh, moving up to Heavyweight wasn't his problem, moving down so quickly was. And he really did clean out the division when he did move up(nobody gives a rats ass about Michaelwiczki)

I can't think of any fighter in or around his division, who would have troubled Jones in his prime LHW days. Hopkins in the early part of the last decade, would have given him his toughest fight.

a 34 year old man losing 30 pounds of pure muscle after the tyson fight didnt materialise?

Of course it messed him up big time. superb fighter, one of the best since the war.

Victories over Toney, Woods, Hopkins, McCallum, Hill, Tarver, Kelly as well as making 30 professional fighters look like amateurs and not losing a round for years.

If he hadnt of gone up to heavy he would have beaten tarver and johnson, probably whooped calzaghe and then retired

At that point in his career he was already declining. He f'ed up big time by waiting to rematch hopkins until 10 years later when noone bought it. That 60/40 hore**** cost them both tens, 20's of millions of dollars. And yeah **** them both for that. Would have been epic.

Jones was well within his rights to ask for 60% of the purse. He was the P4P number one fighter, and he was the one who beat Hopkins in their first fight. I'm a massive Hopkins fan, but it was his stubbornness that prevented that fight from happening.

But yes, it would have been proper awesome.

Right now he'd be fighting Tony Ayala jr for the P4P #1 of all time spot.
