You'd have to think Garth is off the Green radar based on that AAP article.

Green got Siaca out for a fight, so there is no reason why he would lure Garth into a fight just to smoke out the rat!

Can someone please tell me what ****en legacy he's trying to solidfy. And please stop with this 3 time world champion crap. I'm not a green hater, he's a good fighter but far from great but when he starts coming across like mandy well the critism is warranted. I want Green to fight Huck. Thats how you start to build any form of legacy by fighting legitimate world rated fighters in their weight division, in their prime. C'mon Green step it up mate just like Kats & Gealey.

 I gotta say, i sort of agree with Greeny on this one, he wld stop Wood within 3rds.

The Mundine of 2006 SMW would also do the same to Woods.

    Danny's still a ***** tho

of course he'd win @ cruiser and we know what happend to him @ SMW
Why do we continue to talk about green fighting guys 2-3 divisions lower.
he's the so called cruiser champ fight a ****en cruiserweight for **** sake!

Its easy to talk **** about Garth. But he did what Danny couldn't...beat Mundine. At the end of the day, that hurts his "Green Machine" brand.

I hope Garth never fights Danny. Danny needs Garth....Garth don't need ****. He's got what he wants.

At the end of the day it doesn't make a difference what Danny says.

Green hasn't had a one man publicity machine working for him here for years like Ash has been for Mundine.

If someone had been talking Green up out of all proportions in a similar manner and on an hourly basis like Ash used to I would have had a dig at them as well mate.

Green still has stomach for battle

by Jonathan Cook - The West Australian - March 24th 2011

Danny Green's WA fans might have to fly to Sydney to watch his next fight as the International Boxing Organisation cruiserweight champion lines up a high-calibre opponent for a mid-year bout.

Green yesterday declared his intention to return to boxing after he cast doubt on his future following emergency abdominal surgery in January.

The 38-year-old fell sick during a family holiday in Yallingup and was rushed to hospital in Perth, where he had his appendix and a large abscess removed, stripping his body of more than 10kg.

But Green got through a six-round work-out against heavyweight Pieter Cronje yesterday and was pleased with his body's response to his first sparring session since tuning up for his November victory over American BJ Flores.

"Unless something radical happens, I'm back," he said after the sweltering session in Northbridge.

Cronje, who will headline Green Machine Boxing's April 15 show at the WA Basketball Centre, tested Green's recovery with some meaningful body punches.

"They weren't really big shots but a couple of them stung where the scars are," said Green, who has 31 career wins (27 knockouts) and three losses.

And after whetting his appetite in sparring, Green indicated his intention to seek a world-class opponent in his next fight, which could necessitate it being held at Sydney's Entertainment Centre whose 12,000 capacity is around double that of Challenge Stadium.

"I have a lot of people who support me Australia-wide and sometimes it's not logistically or financially possible to fight here," Green said.

    He scoffed at suggestions

, who recently scored a stunning stoppage win over Anthony Mundine, was being looked at as his next opponent.

"I'd rather jump straight back into the fire against a fighter who's going to give you guys the excitement to tune in and watch it," he said. "It's going to make me excited to train, prepare and defeat someone great.

"No disrespect to Garth. He's a guy that I guess not many people know about. The only reason he's known is because he defeated Mundine. He took the chance and he won. So, good luck to the kid. But he's had 13 fights and I don't think it would last more than one or two rounds."

Green, whose next opponent could be announced before the end of the month, also played down rumours linking him to a fight against former light-heavyweight champion

, who starred in the final instalment of the Rocky movie.

"We're looking at a few options," he said.

"We're not far off securing an opponent, hopefully. We've got our agent over in the (United) States and he's dealing with a couple of prominent European fighters."

The upper rungs of the cruiserweight division are filled with Europeans, including Poland's World Boxing Council champion
