No one would bring the people to Vegas like Hatton fans would. But I agree there's better fights out there for Mayweather, definitely would like to see him against Cotto although he'd win that fight in a similar way I think. Right now there's no one I think who can beat Mayweather. Williams would be hard fight, Margarito would be outclassed. Mosley wouldn't beat him either I don't think.

Cotto is probably his hardest fight out there just now.

Good fight for the bank accounts of all concerned - waste of time for the fans imo.

Get the DVD if you want to see it again

Mayweather should fight Cotto next. That would be a massive fight - probably the biggest out there.

Mayweather has said he always wanted to fight in the UK.

Wouldn't surprise me if it happened especially if Mayweather was prepared to drop down to 140lbs and fight Hatton at Light welter.

I'm a Hatton fan but I'm realistic and know the likelihood is he won't win every fight he's in. Even ATG's like Robinson and Ali couldn't so I doubted very much that Hatton could manage it.

So to be honest I'd rather him rematch Mayweather or fight Cotto or De La Hoya. If he remains at 140 and fighting Rees he's probably better off retiring. One fight at 140 against Witter is all that's left for him.

If Mayweather doesn't fight Cotto then Hatton should. We'll then find out if he can mix it at 147 level. You can't judge it against Mayweather because he's a class above everyone just now.

Even if you take a possible Mayweather rematch out of the equation Rees just doesn't generate the same interest or have an established enough name as say Witter, De La Hoya, Cotto or Malignaggi in my opinion.

TAM83 and Stuey - welcome back, hope you enjoyed your time in Vegas!

hmm. Hatton is starting to irritate me again. I gave him his dues for taking defeat like a man on here, but as the days go on & all the medias whingeing about bad refereeing & Ricky now saying it was his own errors that led to defeat, coupled with a ref who wasnt his pal Dave Parris, & not crediting the brilliance of Floyd, & now hes going on about a rematch...
    Does Hatton ever learn?

I thought Hatton had learned the art of humility, & I applauded him for it. I should have known better.

I think for a rematch to be saleable in a situation like this the loser has to provide evidence that he may be able to reverse the result of the first fight. IMHO nothing that Hatton can do at 140 would be enough, to get a rematch he'd need to beat Cotto, Williams or a welter of that calibre.

I believe Floyd Mayweather greatly underestimated Ricky Hatton, and Ricky Hatton did give him the scare of his life. But like always he adapted and neutralised his opponents, and shut his Lights out. Floyd Mayweather is a smart fighter he learns form his mistakes, and fights. I Believe he will still defeat Ricky Hatton UD, but it will not be a knock out, in the rematch.
