    Sir, all you've done here is reconfirm what I just said:

    "In other words, once the 6'4' skilled, in shape fighters like Lewis and the Klits who have dominated the HW scene for the past 12 years disappear, AND if another one of those type of fighters does not show up, we can get back to having 210 HW champs."

    no, if another one like klitschko or lewis does show at the same time another one like tyson shows up, the tyson-type might as well be the champ.

    Unlike you, I don't argue a hypothetical HW division. The fact of the matter is that Lennox Lewis and the Klits are THE standard bearers of the HW division for the past 12 years.

    Your whole argument is rooted in an alternate universe where they didn't exist.

    IF a 210 pound fighter wants to be the CHAMP, for over 12 years running he would have to take it from a 6'4" plus, 245lb plus, skilled fighter.

    PERIOD.

    YOU have already admitted that YOU believe no such fighter exists right now at that weight (210 and under) who can. Not one currently fighting nor on the horizon.

    I asked you to name such fighter at 210 lb with the chin and power to compete, since you yourself stated you need 'power' to compete in the division.

    You couldn't name one.

    I asked you to pick from amongst the top current cruiser to identify these fighters who are 10 lbs away from competing at HW.

    You couldn't name one.

    Arguing that a 205 lb HW can possibly compete with overweight bums is relevant ONLY if that guy only wants to cash a couple of checks. Hell, Eddie Chambers is doing it now.

    You seemed locked into this theory. Have at it, man.

    The weight depends on their frame and their style. There is no standard really.

    But... if I was pressed, I would say 6'2-6'4" 220-230 would be ideal for a boxer-puncher type. But it's really irrevevant. With 10-12 round fights, you now end up with James Toney.

    lol you seem to hang on too tight to the decade dominated by the big fellas when in reality today's crop of heavyweights wouldnt stand a chance against the heavyweights of the 70s. In fact, this era of heavyweights is the worst one in history. Im a fan of Klitschko brothers but even i have to be objective and call things for what they are. You build them up as menacing monsters when in relality they compete against fighters who are a few levels above clubfighters. The conditioning which has been the sole focus of this thread is partly the reason why so many heavyweights blow.

    We have an ATG in wladimir who owns the entire divsion, put him with someone like foreman, ali, tyson, etc etc everyone who would pretty much be smaller in a head to head match up, and wlad would lose, thus proving my point that if there were more elite smaller heavyweights this whole 'size' obsession wouldnt be looked at with such glamour.

    it's what i had more or less in mind. a heavyweight who's 6'3 and weighs 215-220 would be quicker, have some definition and would look trim for his size. There's no reason for someone like Arreola to carry excess fat and outweigh fighters who have 5 inches of height on him, there's no excuse for that.

    everyone can go back and quote me. Hopkins Pascal and Dawson at their current weight can easily outbox arreola. im being serious.

    size matters. all other things being equal, a natrual 245 lber has a big advantage over a natural 220 or less. not that a smaller hw cant reach the top, its just harder

    Some of you don't know a god damn thing about Boxing history it is littered with little guys beating big guys. Size doesn't mean anything if you don't know how to use it.
