    I go with that format!!!

Degale's Gold Medalion would get them the slot and it would get the prime time public behind them.

If they built it in the right way I think it could be huge. They could mix it with a fight camp 360 type program involving their family etc.

I think it could be huge but the sad fact is these days after Audley no-one is prepared to take the risk!!!

You know something? It would be! Degale & Groves are the shot in the arm our sport needs. No bull****, just a pair of smug *******s that think they are unbeatable laying it all on the line...
To be fair to Nigel Benn though he was never the smug guy, he was the 'peoples champion' whereas Eubank was the 'english eccentric'

Its a strange comparison, as Degale & Groves are nothing like Benn & Eubank, but somehow they are! If you get me.

It would be. It is a waste to shove it on an under card of Clev PPV. Deserves much wider viewing than that.

One big difference is Benn and Eubank where already successful and respected boxers and therefore easily generated the interest. Plus boxing was more popular then.

Sadly though, I dont think the general public a) knows who the hell either are and b) gives a rats arse who wins.

I wish this wasnt the case of course.

Why don't itv do a ppv sometime, fiver per household much larger potential audience. If it bombs once fine don't do it again, but they could be sat on a gold mine

  7. wouldnt it be great if they brought boxing back on itv full stop

It wouldn't happen for a pretty simple reason...

The general public are not interested

I think only the real boxing fans are interested here, just the way boxing is now!

If it was shown on itv i'm sure it would get great ratings as they would be on every day time show hyping it up just like david haye on sky and their programmes.

Special guest presenter could be david haye etc etc

But to be honest I don't really care if no one wants to watch as long as it happens and I get to see it somehow.

It's degale's to throw away but he seems more affected by the hype than george.

It's a catch 22 the public arn't interested because they're not exposed to it and they're not exposed to it because the promoters and tv bosses don't think they'd be interested. What we really need is a promoter to take the risk!

if they each had 5 fights on itv first and then did it would be huge

if they did it now wouldnt be that big, nobody knows who they are

problem for boxers these days is getting that initial exposure
