    Obviously.

If he was having his best day and they weren't.

But if both were having their best day, then NO.

    I hear that.

I believe the 70s would be his hardest challenge, otherwise after that lewis and perhaps holyfield would be his greatest threat.
I dont believe he would have a problem dealing the heavyweights in this era.

    persepctive

    prime years

    Mike Tyson
11 heavyweight title fights in first run
9 former, current or ex champions
    10-1

    Sonny Liston
    4 heavyweight title fights
2 former, current or ex champions
    2-2

    Floyd Patterson
11 heavyweight title fights (including liston)
2 former, current or ex champions
    8-3

liston was obviously a feared guy, but the record reflects he didnt beat many top guys from his era also only having for title fights and losing 2 of them, 1 in the first round....anything can happen but it doesnt look good for liston and he certainly wouldnt be favored

There's about 1/2 dozen that might be able to beat a prime Tyson, but we just don't know. But pretty much can be said about Lewis as well.

As for Ali, there's only about 2-3 I I think might be able to beat him, especially considering he beat two on this list. I think only Holmes and Lewis would have a chance.

Foreman, Ali, Holmes, Lewis, Holyfield, and Liston.

Some on this board think a piece of garbage like John L. Sullivan could beat him...

Not any. I don't think at any time he'd beat Lewis and he'd struggle against any other reachy fighters. Even the Klitschkos in their prime days would have troubled him to me. Any of the normal fighters who made big impacts in their time he'd beat though. He'd beat Haye, Louis, Marciano, Jack Johnston, Sonny Liston etc. The best fights and most impressive would be against the fellow big bangers like Frazier and Foreman. I think he'd struggle against any tall fighter who knows how to hide the exposed stomach.

He'd have his shot, IMO. Even as a puncher, hes dangerous. But that's not his only asset. He's got handspeed, headmovement, durability, heart, and great combinations.
The peop I'd confidently pick over him in a series would be Ali and Holyfield. I'm not really sure about anyone else

tyson wasnt a dumb brawler, he was a technician and very underrated ring intelligence.
