Does Dimitrenko's KO win over the sturdy Sosnowski make Chambers now

come on, Dimitrenko looked horrible. He won the early rounds, but after that he clinched instead of boxing, and whenever he was down the referee turned blind eye on it (the same with his clinching). It was just a lucky punch, otherwise the fight was pretty even (and difficult to watch).

No. Sosnowski today was big piece of crap.

 

Chambers always was more than an American "black hope." He is a skilled and gutsy fighter who would make a fine cruiserwieght wchamp.

 

Dimitrenko was always a good win for Chambers, but the Dimitrenko-Sosnowski fight was dog**** and means nothing vis-a-vis their careers or any of their opponents'. It was a huge disaster, both fought horribly.

 

Eddie's problem is that he fits into the middle of the top 10 HW rankings and that he's rated by the IBF.

General issues: Everyone above him is busy with someone else.
The IBF champion, Wlad - tied up this year with an injury, then Haye in the summer/fall.
Haye - Nothing to gain by fighting Chambers.
Vitali - Probably going to rest and then fight Adamek in the Fall.

Rankings Issues: Chambers is hovering in the Intercontinental level of competition with these guys.

Adamek - Busy working on world titles.
Helenius - Fighting Sam Peter
Peter - Fighting Helenius
Arreola - No big reward for Chambers if he wins.


Regional Champion level: a step down in competition from his current ability:
Dimi - He's already beaten.
Boytsov - Does this guy ever fight?
Harris - I'd like to see Chambers win this as a tune up and become the USBA champion.

 

Given that "sturdy" is probably the most complimentary adjective ever used to describe Sosnowski, I'd say this does nothing for Dimitrenko, let alone Chambers.

 

Are you kidding? the only good thing about that fight was the last uppercut that ended the fight.

 

Chambers is a good solid fighter. Dimitrenko, I'm not sold on him. I very much doubt he will emulate the Klitschko's.

Haye vs Chambers would be interesting and unpredictable, but Vitali would simply crush Eddie.

 

Chambers is in line for a title shot now. He might have to face the winner of Helenius/Peter to get there, but that won't happen for awhile.

In the meantime Chambers should take another fight against someone who isn't a huge threat, but is well known. Build some buzz for his next title campaign.
