Creed was like the Floyd Mayweather Jr of late 70's fictional heavyweight boxing. But then again who the **** did Balboa ever fight when everybody was hyping him up? Some european guys, a guy with no trainer and a Russian on more PED's than Mosley circa 2003. Drago wrote the mother****ing book on doping hardcore, all he did in training was run around a track and get injected.

Don't even get me started on Mason Dixon either.

How 'bout Damon Reed (recently lost a shotout UD10 from a shot to sh#t James Toney).

It wasn't just that he didn't deserve the fight, he also lost it inside a minute.
He had 1 pretty good opponent (Brian Nielsen) before he fought Hide, but ofcourse he did lose that fight. The rest were total cans.

Koji Sato vs. Felix Sturm. Maybe not the worst ever but still a god awful excuse for an opponent.

That's not always the case. For the most part, fighters from the lower weights aren't as carefully matched as guys from the higher weights. So a lot of the time genuinely good fighters have less than brilliant records, creating the illusion that they're poor challengers.

Soooooo true, but the way Haye boasted how he'd NEVER give Audley the title shot, then a week later the rumors start about the fight, followed by a sighned contract a week or so later........:rofl:rofl:rofl

I mean that would be like Wlad saying he would NEVER fight Evander because of his respect for him and because of his age. Then a week later, rumors go around that they are in talks for a fight. Two weeks later there a contract, and the week before the fight, Holy's fans are pulling for the upset, and K fans are talking about all that Holy has done over the last year or so to warrant the shot.

Let's face it, this sport has become localized. The best HW's are from the former Soviet Union, and thus most of our challengers are Russians or Europeans. That said, Audley is a European based fighter with a large fan base in GB and some of Europe. So there were may who legitmized his chances and worthiness based off his local performances.

Hell, even I was hoping he could somehow regain that amatuer magic and land a straight left to Hayes grill, and somehow pull it off. He just happened to take the night off is all.:lol::lol:

Dmitri Salita springs to mind almost immediately.

Boxing Monthly ran an article about him in the lead up to the Khan fight, both Lou DiBella and Bob Arum were interviewed and were critical of him and his advisors, given that they'd tried to make fights in New York with both Malignaggi and Cotto in the early 2000's.

Apparently Salita was offered a large amount of money for both fights but rejected them because he didn't want to have ''tough'' fights.

Somehow gets a WBA title fight in England and is twatted around the ring for a minute before the referee rightly stepped in.

Joseph Laryea was a bad opponent for Ricky Burns last time out, 11-4 I think his record was, with several of the defeats coming against fighters that Burns had previously beaten easily.
