i like gamboa right but why wasnt he DQ when he hit while his opponent was down , when roy jones was DQ against montell griffin for a similar act if anything alot less intentional and abraham against dirrel

im glad someone finally said something. i was really pissed off last night watching that. even though solis was outclassed thers no room for that in the ring. if ther was a better referee in ther last nite he would have got dq'd. low blows, rabbit punches, and hitting while he was dwn

You have to wonder, he has so many years of international competition that it must be hardwired into his brain not to rabbit punch or hit people on the floor. Weird.

I don't know if he checks his Facebook but here's his page:

Your right, but I also think people need to quit cheating and leaning there head down so the only thing that there opponent can hit is the back of there heads, or back.
Gamboa landed 100 rabbit punches, but solis put his head down 200 times. For gods sake I haven't even fought an actual match (amatuer) and even I know when you bend to slip punches, you look your opponent and squat down....Never look at the canvas!

I agree that Gamboa is kind of wild though, and does land them to much, but the way Solis fought...I really didn't care. Gamboa could have knee'd the guy in the face and wouldn't have cared.

It wouldn't surprise me if the trainer of a future opponent tells his fighter to go down like he's been shot, it's what I would do.

Great boxer but he's a DQ waiting to happen.

just watched a replay of the fight.
i also saw gamboas last fight

like it or not.. gamboa is a dirty fighter. it's ok to have a 'win at all costs' attitude, but not when it's against the inherent rules of the sport.. the solis fight was littered with low blows and rabbit punches and with a fighter of gamboas skill level, you better believe every single one of them was thrown with deliberate intentions... he needs to realize that those cheap shots do not help him (he clearly had the fight in the bag from the second round onwards). it's just a matter of time until he gets a big DQ next to his name if he keeps that **** up
