Diaz is already in training for his return. The pride of Houston has been inactive since losing a twelve round unanimous decision in his rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez last July. "I spoke with Juan Diaz [on Saturday]. He's ready to return. There are still a lot of guys that he can fight, like Brandon Rios, Urbano Antillon, Humberto Soto and all of those guys. He's training right now and ready to restart his career. He's one of the few people who can draw in his own hometown. Maybe Top Rank might be interested in putting him in with Rios or Soto. Or maybe GBP will put him in with the winner of Katsidis-Guerrero. He's officially ready to comeback". Savannah told b-scene.com
he is so young. still has a lot to give to the sport. if he is 100 percent committed to training he can win a championship.
Honestly, Id rather see him just move on with his life. I dont see the point of milking everything out of himself. Its obvious his body has reached 'that point', he was declining, and he was recently rocked by Malignaggi of all people. Not saying with some time off, recoup, and all that, he cant regain some lost luster and go on to win some fights, but damn... hes had a good run and now theres a life in law waiting for him, why go on into that vicious cycle of getting abused over and over, because right now, being past his peak and with there being top level opposition all around him, hes going to be in tough fight after tough fight after tough fight, and probably will lose more then he wins against the top guys from here on out. Idk.... Ive seen the baby bull, and I enjoyed his time on top, he was a good fighter who gave us good fights and can be proud of how far he went in boxing. Hes still young, probably still has all his wits about him, has a life waiting for him and personally Id just rather see him go on to that next level rather then stick around boxing. For what? To win a few more fights? Hes not going to do anything that will outweigh the punishment he will recieve, imo. If he had it to become an undisputed champ, and carve out a nice portion of legacy still, and he looked to be improving, and there was much to gain, Id say hell ya.... but I just dont see it. Just imo. That being said, Im sure its not easy to let go of the lights, camera, fans and action.... and warriors are warriors, that doesnt just shut off. So on the flip side I guess I can understand a lil (not to mention the paydays).... if he comes back Ill support him, ive always liked him and his style.
