Maybe you should watch their first grueling war they had, then their 2nd war, which was shorter but still brutal none the less. Then come and tell me if you still think Castillo wasnt shot...Oh lets not forget Jose was above his prime weight as well.

Hatton was nothing special. He was basically a bum.

If Hatton was such a bum, how come all of England followed him?

Because they will buy into literally anyone. Look at Khan, Haye, Macaroni, etc

I don't see any of those three having a bigger following than Hatton.. When Hatton fought, the whole country was there with him..

Ain't that the truth.. especially on this forum, by the look of things.

No one's saying he was a World Beater, as he had glaringly obvious limitations, but to call him a bum is out of order in my opinion. He fought at the top level, how could he possibly be a bum? Net kids eh? :patsch

    Such as?
You'll probably say Lazcano but thats the only one remotely controversial. Even then Hatton did destroy him on the cards. Just a matter of maybe the ref could have stopped the fight

Because when he came to the United States, he was exposed. Look at Joe Calzaghe. When his fights started broadcasting in the U.S., he still performed at a very high level, and proved how great he really was. Hatton was overrated to begin with, and his performances in the U.S. confirm that.

Maybe because a lot of people dont really like english fighters plus the way that floyd and pac sparked him. Also, as far as i remember he seemed to think he was better than he actually was and asking for a rematch with floyd would have annoyed some, he didnt deserve that. He didnt ask for a rematch with pac though....... ouch

Hatton was an entertaining fighter and I have no idea why he gets the hate he does.

I also loved how much noise his fans made during his fights. Even when he was losing, they were happy to see him fight. Thats the mark of a good fighter, and great fans.

He fought 4 elite fighters in his career:

    Koysta Tszyu
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Manny Pacquiao
    Jose Luis Castillo

The two he beat were pretty much shot, and the he got demolished by the other two. He was an elite fighter, but he was nowhere near Mayweather or Pacquiao and that showed.
