Yes but the thing about Garcia is that he didnt show many weaknesses like most green guys show. He fought a very composed fight. Im gonna actually say that he might even have more composure than Canelo and i rated Canelo pretty high on just his composure alone.
Guys like Garcia are just wasting their time with journeyman. They need to be tested before they start regressing. I saw a bored fighter out there and i was still impressed. I want to see him fight in 5th gear. Hell he might even have a 6th.

i would give him Concepcion next, or Salido, even Solis himself and them jump him to the next level. What do u think?...but at 23, why the rush?

He was pretty decent. Good power but I thought he was king of slow for a featherweight. Remillard is an OK fighter but he isn't an elite featherweight. Garcia is pretty young so he could have a good career I don't know if he'll be a star though.

Thank God for Garcia's sake that Saul is not his manager, his trainer, his manager and his promoter had say he is not ready for Gamboa, But Saul knows better, he is the type of fan that give no credit or a least until all his favorites get demolished, if you let Garcia fight Gamboa now, he will get damaged for the rest of his career, ala David More, Reid and in some way Vargas, just because he beat up on a guy like Rem that has no pop at all, it means that he will take Gamboas punches well or deal with his speed like a veteran would, you need to b in the trenches to understand what the warriors go through, is not the same from the living room, boxers had other view in real 3D.

:deal Does need to work on defense and speed, but Remillard came to win and he's not a bad fighter either I'd like to see him in the future. Mikey will be a threat to anyone in the future, but needs refining. Good performance, just ate alot of right hands tho. Hope the best for him.

dude I like Mickey Garcia my post history proves that, but he doesnt have the passion to be a star in the sport. Its like Kellerman said during last week's fight, Mikey didnt choose this sport...this sport chose Mikey.

A kid with that much talent has the potential to be a star. You are right though if he doesnt want it he obviously wont become it. I just saw a very polished 23 year old. Very odd to see someone so young with that type of skills. I really wanna rewatch the fight again. It was pretty loud where i was and didnt really listen to any commentary.

I think all the questions we have for Mikey will be answered once he faces a swarmer with a hard chin. Will he crumble like Ortiz or love it like Rios. Once that is answered we will know if he has the potential to be a star in this sport. Mikey is a very intelligent fighter with a lot of class plus a lot of power but his passion remains doubtful.

Thats why i said he needs to face elite fighters now. The kid isnt being tested properly.
Salido could be a test but i honestly see that being a schooling with a possible stoppage. Concepcion would be good because he does have alot of power but i see him being stopped early.
Johny Gonzalez would be a hell of a test.

Actually that would be the next fight i want to see for him.
