This. Buffer is a champ. Goldy has been involved in the sport for 15 years and he still doesn't have a ****ing clue what's going on, but he's good value. Rogan is great because he watches the sport as a fan and for the most part he calls it that way. The only thing that irritates me about Rogan is his 10th Planet love affair.
The good thing about Goldie is that he doesn't have a clue, which forces Joe to educate him which educates the audience sitting at home, especially when it comes to the ground aspect of the sport. Everyone gives him **** because he says dumb things or sometimes asks what can be perceived as silly questions but that's his job, not everyone is a long time MMA fan.
Buffer is fantastic - does a great job getting the crowd pumped and putting over the event. Top announcer in the business (inc. wrestling and boxing) at the moment IMO. Golberg's alright - although I think Snowden nailed him a couple of months ago when he pointed out that for many matches he stops doing play by play for long stretches and forces Rogan to do both. I think the UFC would benefit from a third announcer in the old Randy Couture role - Militech over at Strikeforce does a great job of this.
Couture is horrible to be honest. I remember in silva vs frankling 1 he said "frankling is in trouble" like 3 or 4 times rapid fire
Not at all. Buffer brings a great energy to the show and especially in main events. Interesting fact, Rogan said if you don't hear Goldy talking when the fighters are getting in the cage its because he's gone to the toilet. He says he has the bladder of an infant. Goldbergs a sports broadcaster anyway. He does a good job at tying the whole show together. I appreciate him, nice guy.
I wouldn't want Michael Buffer anywhere near the Octogan.. Obviously Bruce has had something going for him. Both brothers are a perfect fit for the two sports.
