Yep. At this point in his career, I thought this was an ideal fight for him. It'll be interesting to see what his next move is - I don't see what good it does his career to just sit out and wait for his shot at the Pascal-Hopkins winner.

So how long does he plan to sit out now? He's had 2 fights in the last 2 years, nowhere near enough. He should have already fought at least once since the Pascal fight. He needs to rebuild with Steward in his corner but it just isn't happening.

Yeah, I'm sure watching Diaconu get nearly stopped and go life and death with a shot to **** Omar Sheika sent chills down Chad's spine.

Still haven't heard why Dawson has turned this fight down. Unless he has a more attractive plan B up his sleeve this seems like a bad move. He would have beaten Diaconu and then was supposedly gauranteed the winner of Hopkins-Pascal, everything was in place for Dawson to make a return to being relevant again. I'd like to know his new plans but I have to admit Dawson makes it really hard to be a fan of his.

Ducked him before, ducking him again. I'm not sure why that is, but it is. Let's hope he didn't have to fly to Mexico this time to try to lobby an official to duck Diaconu. That did happen previously.

This might surprise you, but not everyone on this board is from the USA and/or grew up with American culture. Do many people in the world know The Wizard Of Oz? Yes. Does everyone? Not sure about that. So, I'm trying to help out those who might not know.

paulfv: ignore the morons.. it's better for your sanity

As for Dawson.. I'm starting to think Pascal broke him beyond repair. He was that fragile.

Goes to show: Pascal loses to Froch but comes out better and more focused. Dawson loses to Pascal and never comes out of it.

I wonder why this comes out has no surprise, even when they officialized the bout last week, I keep my doubts about it. If we have someone close to Dawson who could bring explanations, it would be more than interseting to find what's behind his mind.........I was going to buy tickets for that event, but now, I think it deserve only to go in a sportsbar and watch the final around a beer. No more than that. Even if a boxer could leave the ring in a bodybag, as Nard says!!

    Great post, and thanks. :good

I became a huge Pascal fan over the years since the Froch and Diaconu fights. Jean is a tough guy who lays it all out there and handles his setbacks well. His victory over Dawson was just an added bonus in my mind.

I updated the Sad Chad pic to reflect this event:

We will have to see where Chad's psyche is at now. He just doesn't seem to want to take on top guys who are under the age of, I don't know, 38 or so.

Anybody with a f4cking brain knows Dawson isn't ducking to fight Diaconu. Diaconu is known to cancel fights on more then 1 occassion but yet it's Dawson who's ducking? lol. I think it's more to do with Dawson manager or Promoter.

No fighter should take HBO for granted and if this story's true, then that's indirectly what Chad is doing...

First of all, he desperately needs to be more busy. You can't fight once in a blue moon and expect to consistently be at your best.

Dawson can't get a better pay check if HBO ain't behind him...unless SHOWTIME would have something for him but that ain't happenin'.

The best thing to do is to fight Diaconu and whip his ass live on HBO.
