A class act all the way. Great trainer, and a great commentator as well. he had that style where you felt like he was in the living room having a beer with you. easy, relaxed full of knowledge, but not full of himself. RIP Gil...

I can hear his voice as plain as day in my head recounting some very memorable fights. In my opinion he was probably the best colour commentator out of them all.

Rip Gil Clancy. His broadcasts were the best because of his trainers perspective. I remember during Hagler and Mugabi he noticed Hagler's left was looping instead of straight and he asked Hearns about it,and Hearns said it would straighten up once Marvin worked out the rust a little.

Great commentator and all-around great for boxing. I love the Foreman/Moorer fight: "George has heart but he's a clubber" "He's a 45 year old man in a young man's game, give him all the credit in the world..."

    5 seconds later...

    Moorer goes to sleep.

Clancy was classy enough to say "he sure fooled me."

    RIP, Gil
