Would make sense for Vitali to fight in early June, because the Klitschkos have only one fight left on their RTL contract.

Could renegotiate a better deal for Wlad-Haye then.

At least Chisora has been active, Liakhovich has fought once a year since 2008

I don't really mind the Liakhovich fight so much since he's usually a very game, very exciting fighter. Well expect for the bore fest against Shannon Briggs.................even then he was KO'd spectacularly. :thumbsup

I don't think Sergei is a bad choice after defending against mandatory Solis and with a good challeger lined up in Adamek.

What HW has fought better names in a row other than his brother?

    Solis
    Liakhovich
    Adamek

Vitali could fight your own mother and you would say it's a good fight.

    Nuthugging fool.

Lyakovich is as big of a joke as Briggs, Johnson and Sosnowski.

Didn't think you could post stuff from other websites here. Just go to ESPN boxing home page and there is a picture of Juan Manuel Marquez on the front of the page. Click on that photo and it will bring up all the notes he wrote about, the Vitali fight in there.

K thanks I finally found it--it was kinda buried.

Well, this would be a gay fight. About as bad as a match-up as Briggs--probably a little worse because of Sergei's inactivity. If he's going to take a fight like this he might as well just fight Krasniqi or Hoffmann--at least those names would sell in Germany.

I hope it doesn't happen. Vitali could beat Chisora or Dimitrenko easily and would get alot more credit for it.

Ugh, I want Liakhovich to fight at the top level again, but don't feed him to Vitali at this point.

Makes sense for Segei to take this fight. He'd need 15 fights against the Johnny Whites and Jeremy Bates to make half the money he'd make against Vitali.

funny how so many of you guys say.... "Vitali should fight this guy"...."or that guy"... or.. "this guy is available"....

Its not that simple guys... so much goes into talks and such... and most guys want to wait for the brothers to retire or try and get into a mandatory position for a much bigger payday then a voluntary defense.

At this point it just talk... nothing set or done yet

If The Wolf is in the top 15 of the WBC, I dont see how anyone can complain with this voluntary defense. Vitali doesnt make the list, he just fights the guys on it

What about Tony Thompson? Yes he's 39 but at least he's been active and comes off a series of wins vs. journeymen. Certainly Tony wouldn't say no to K2 options and a $750k purse.

Plus Thompson has a name in Germany after stopping Krasniqi and giving a decent account of himself whiel losing to Wlad.
