    I think he would have gone far, you can't say who he would and would not beat to be honest but one thing that you can say is that no one would have beat him easy or destroyed him, his dedication and his natural physical ability alone make him a dangerous fighter, add to that his good all round boxing skills then you have a guy that in my opinion would reach world level.. I remember him going to a multi's in Russia and smashing everyone and it shocked a lot of people, his style was suited to the pros no doubt.. It's so very very sad how it's all ended but I for one will always look back at him and think he was going places..

    He was a good boxer, but I still get the phrase "It's such a shame". It was his choice after all. Good boxer at the time though. Maybe James DeGale mighten be the arrogant ***** he is today if he had a stiffer rival like Sutherland.

    I noticed alot of posters say that man it was Sutherland's choice .I seen a poll on the scene the majority said the Gatti death was a murder .I don't think the boxing world will ever know the truth tbh man .Watch this from 2.15 on the Gatti death .He signs his 6 mil to his wife then a couple of weeks later he's found with his wife's purse strap around his neck , suspicous .Both Sutherland and Gatti got exhumed for second postmortems .

    Some of the stuff written on this thread is well out of order. anybody could be reading this stuff, including his family. try not to write anything on here you wouldnt be prepared to someones face and il bet we would all get along much better:verysad

    it was his choice but depression is a type of illness something that cannot be controlled or cured in the extreme cases

    Darren was a massive talent and had a great style for the pro game. We will never know how far he could have gone but imo he had as good a chance as anyone to go a long long way. Hope he's at peace now, godbless. P.s...he never boxed my brother, the opening statement says he gave smith a few hidings....they never ever shared a ring :patsch
