I'm very late...I know. I watched the fight twice last night. Man its scary (as a JML fan) to see how much Gamboa is improving. It was a major major statement when Solis said he hits harder than Pacman...wow. I'm starting to think Gamboa will be too much for JML. Though JML will be much more compact and effective with his punches.
Not to worry man. JML does have a shot. I would say its 60-40 right now because of JMLs chin and defense combined with Gambos speed and power. Either fighter can end it in any round. Thats why i have been craving this fight for a while. One thing is that the longer the fight goes on the better for JML. With these 2 fighters who knows we might get a DQ!!! Gamboa needed to be penalized in the Solis fight badly. He hit him behind the head so many times along with swinging at him while he was down. If he wasnt the HBO fighter i think a DQ could have taken place.
I'm worried about Lopez coming in trying to prove something. I like that in fighters, but that could spell Juanma's undoing. I hope he comes in really focused and disciplined. Lopez needs to fight someone very athletic like Gamboa. If Gamboa gets John, he may even be more prepared than Lopez. I'm leaning towards Gamboa at this point, but definitely not writing Lopez off. I think 60-40 is a fair measure.
