    Wlad 6'6
    Vitali 6'8
    Valuev 7'0ish
    Dimitrneko 6'7
    Thompson 6'5
    Lewis 6'5
    Helenius 6'6 1/2
    Ustinov 6'7 1/2

By far we are in the giant phase of heavyweights. I dont see how this trend can continue. But, looking at it from a historic perspective this is by far and away the era of the tallest, biggest heavyweights ever. Good, bad or doesnt matter to the sport?

Evolution man. Humans get bigger each generation. Too bad their ability to fight doesn't evolve with their size.

So your hypothesis is that in another 30 yrs all these guys are going to be over 7ft tall?

These guys are freakishly huge to ahve that size and still be able to box.

I have no idea, I'm not a scientist. I hope not for boxing's sake if they continue to get bigger and fight worse.

There's only two talented fighters on the list, Wlad and Lewis. Vitali isn't technically gifted and he's, by far, the third best. The rest are pretty shocking, really.

This isn't going to be an era of superheavyweights. Adamek and Haye would beat every other fighter on the list with ease.

    If your gonna mention Lewis who is not from this era, then you gotta mention;
    Bowe 6"6
    Akinwande 6"7
    Grant 6"7
    McCline 6"6
I think because of the success of Bowe and Lewis and now the Klitschko's, a lot of big guys now are encouraged by this and see they can accomplish things with there size.
Some tend to forget that these four men were excellent amateurs, but thinking about it so was Audley Harrison, but you get my point.
I will continue to look at Lewis, Bowe and the brothers as exceptions rather than the norm. No doubt there are some big heavies about now and some coming through, but i think most will continue to fall between 6"2 - 6"4 for a few more generations yet.
I think Jack done a thread on this recently.

When someone comes along and is 6'5-6'7ish and can move and have the technique of a Klitschko, a Lewis, a Riddick Bowe, they will be champion since it's so hard to match up with that save when it's got technique too. Size is part of the equation in boxing success, some people are massive in the HW division and while they lack many attributes their sheer size/strength compensates for it.

Vitali and Vlad have size and power, Vitali at 6 feet 8 inches tall and Vlad at 6 feet 7 inches tall. Helenius is approx the same, Ustinov huge.

They're each about an inch shorter than that, but clearly massive nonetheless.

It's not entirely new. Primo Carnera at 6'7" was around for a long time pre war.

Yah but your talking about one guy here, but never this many ever in the top 25 of the HW division.

This is clearly the age of the goliaths. I just dont know if this trend will or can continue?
