I hope you're right in that he'll take the fight with Lee. As for his claims on twitter, I'd take his words a rather large grain of salt. He's lost almost 1 in 3 fights and Kelly Pavlik and Lemieux don't fancy fighting him?
I believe the guy when he said Pavlik and Lemiuex team turned him down. The guy just beat a fully hydrated former world champ Sergio Mora. He is no bum. Just badly managed. Just wait and see who is willing to fight him, he has a nice WBC ranking , boxers should be dying to fight him.
Thats spot on i heard that it was supposed to be June (the vera fight) and now is July so Andy wanted to keep trim and busy a handy win would be great and if they can get an opponent with a style simular to Veras it would be a great move.
Golden Boy Kavanagh lands in Manchester with Khan Krew http://www.boxing-ireland.com/2010304_jamie_kavanagh_manchester_46.html
I'm not sure a Vera rematch is a good idea for Andy. The McEwen fight showed that he hasn't really improved from the Vera fight imo. He was up against a guy with a style similar to himself and struggled so how will he cope with the strength and pressure of Vera second time around. I just think his style is all wrong for Andy and I fear he might even win easier second time around. Hope I'm wrong but even though he finished McEwen well he was pretty dreadful for much of that fight. Id rather see him get a few more of those low profile fights but against durable opposition this time round to get rounds under his belt and try to improve his boxing on the inside.
That Spanish lad John Murray fought got stopped in 4 by Rasilla, the same guy McCloskey beat to win the European and Andy Murray beat to win the eu title on the Dunne Cordoba card so based on that form you would have to give Andy a shot. I thought Murray looked very average last night.
I'll second that about Razak, I really like him, one of my favourite(maybe even number 1) journeymen around. He's guaranteed to give Kavanagh some rounds and if Kavanagh isn't 100% focused, a pretty tough fight.
