Apparently so, mate, but I saw no pictures posted on Twitter, surprisingly, but in a Video I just posted in the Build-up thread, he said he did, but he couldn't have done anymore than 3 rounds with him.

Good article, nice to see different sides after listening to Amir on Ringside, what I did find truly amazing is that Ariza has his boxers on a 7000 calorie a day diet, now that is a serious amount of calories that is.. He must work you into the ground to burn all that off.. His boxers are always in fantastic condition!!

Burning off 7000 calories a day must take some work, how the hell do they have energy come fight night?

7000? thats fascinating its actually really hard to consume that amount in a day he is probably waking up boxers in the middle of the night with supplements just to get them to eat that much. It seems like a lot of wear and tear on the body though i would like to hear his opinion on nutrition

It's a shame they didn't ask him if he still felt Amir masterminded the theft of his contracts!

I can understand Ariza's prescribed calorie intake. His training regime will drive
participants over the edge, and literally drain every sap of energy out of them. I remember reading about Bernard Dunne's regime with Mick McGurn and it really was extreme. His philosophy was the same as Ariza, they simulate extreme training methods that ensure that when the boxer is overcoming adversity in the later rounds in the ring, then they have been prepared to prevail.

Michael Phelps calorie intake was 12,000 per day. So, 7000 isnt too extreme when you compare it to Phelps.

don't know how the hell you can consume 7000 good healthy calories in one day, slightly easier if your eating junk and rubbish but you'd have to eat so much eating healthy foods, you'd spend most your time in the toilet

to put it in a little perspective, you would have to eat 4Kg of chicken breast to meet that requirement, or 8 packets of these...

or 2Kg of pasta, bearing in mind the average portion in a normal meal is around 150-200 grams

edit: suppose alot of it will be in high calorie drinks presumably, but still..

Getting to 7000 is actually pretty easy if you break it down and spread it out. Combat soldiers who operate in certain environments consume 8000 per day

With all due respect though a lot of the food that combat soldiers eat is just high calorie stuff not formulated supplements

they eat a lot of lard (literally)

i think i prefer mackie shilstone's methods of eating fresh and organic food better, 7000 calories would be hard to eat especially for people that size, wlad consumes 5000 calories or so, and he packs on 15-20lb of muscles in camp.
