True, but he certainly said something to Gibbs, as the footage probably shows.

Perhaps it wasn't quite as witty as what's been remembered by most. But Waugh was good with the mental disintegration, and you can bet whatever he did say was pretty cutting!

Another Mark Waugh one with England's Jimmy Ormond

Ormand had just come out to bat and Waugh said: "Fk me, look who it is. Mate, what are you doing out here? There's no way you're good enough to play for England."

To which Ormond replied: "Maybe not but at least I'm the best player in my family."

Hope Mark Waugh learned to be quiet.

"I whipped his ass last night. And easily. I mentally and physically beat him. I put an old-fashioned project beating on him. A housing authority beating. A ghetto beating. Everyone tried to build him up, but I condemned the building."

Pernell Whitaker after being jobbed against Chavez.

Greatest ever quote, sledge, comment call it what you want.

When Steve Walters ousted Benny Elias from the Kangaroo side for the first time it was in the days before players were rested from the club comp. And Balmain and Canberra happened to meet that weekend before the test. Every time a scrum was to be set Walters would yell at Benny "hurry up! I've got a Test match to play!"

    No that one was Ali.

What you're thinking of is the classic convo beaten Ali and Joe Louis.

Ali: Joe, you really think you could've beat me?

Joe Louis: When i was champ i went on "the bum of the month tour"

Ali: Are you calling me a bum?

Joe: I'm saying you'd be on the tour.
