Is it possible that Calzaghe is overhyped because BOTH Lacy and Kessler were?

Of course it will I like Calzaghe I was a critic at first but his fights with Lacy and Kessler really proved that he was the real deal ..

 

he is not overhyped.
But Hopkins can make him look that way.

 

Not knocking Joe at all, I think he's great. But is that division really that good or deep, ALA Roy Jones getting away with it for years.

Lacy I agree with sadly, but why is Kessler overhyped? Because he's lost 1 fight to the no.1 guy in the SMW division?

 

Calzaghe Is an awesome boxer (MY FAV) but what all of us seem to realise is that so is Hopkins and hopkins is really smart technical boxer alegend of the game, so dont underestimate Hopkins could be a big understatement n by the way Calzaghe is a tremendous boxer with skill and speed and

Surely beating Mikkel Kessler is the feat it's cracked up to be. Beating Lacy that way certainly was. If that's the case or ain't exactly like that, beware of Hopkins all the same.

Hopkins vs Calzaghe is being overhyped by BOTH Calzaghe and Hopkins in their last fights and in the Hatton-Mayweather weigh-in and that may spoil it. Badly well kept secrets always produce counteractive results.

 

anybody who still thinks calzaghe is overhyped STILL must be a dickhead! Kessler was never overhyped, if anything he was underated for so long!!

 

Joe Calzaghe keeps beating the best he can fight, then after he beats them they where over-rated or past their best. He has beat Eubank, Reid, Lacy and Kessler, all top fighters when he beat them. IMO, Kessler is a very under-rated fighter, he will go on to dominate the division when Calzaghe retires.
Joe, has unified the divison, how can he be over-rated?

 

you dont know what your talking about mate, you can't have watched any boxing in your life if you STILL think Calzaghe is overated, you suck!!

 

I always have the same answer for these threads: It's funny how Floyd Mayweather, the P4P KIng, can say "Joe Calzaghe is one of the greatest fighters I have ever seen" and a load of blokes on a forum can say he's over-rated.

Who's opinion do you trust? Who has more insight? Who's opinion will be more respected?

The best thing to do is ignore these guys. "Thicker than two short planks" is one way of summing them up. Ignore.

 

Calzaghe is #2 P4P, and not far behind PBF, IMO.
