Who is the last best light heavyweight champ we've seen?

    Hopkin's and Calzaghe never defended their titles, Chad was on his way but lost to Pascal. Tarver wasn't all that good. Roy's really the only pick.

    hopkins, he is great doing what he does well above 40 is very impressive.

    I don't disagree with you man... but I think RJJ was just lightyears above everyone else in talent... i.e. this thread seems to be pointless but thats just my opinion.. i feel rjj will get most of the votes

    But yea, Jones was the last dominant champ. Tarver destroyed him but he lost to Johnson and then Hopkins came along and he never really defended it a light heavy. Dawson was the guy to beat but lost to Pascal (BS stoppage, just horrible. You should never stop a fight in the eleventh round of a world championship fight like that.) and Pascal lost to Hopkins and now the rematch.

    I wont argue with anyone that has jones up, best choice perhaps, I just wanted to give hopkins a little credit since he keeps amazing people with his performances, but talentwise jones for sure.

    Roy Jones is a top 30ish all time great in my book....ranks higher than anyone after his reign...easy answer....ROY YALL MUSTVE FORGOT
