Daley has no statistics to speak of. And has not beaten a top name yet. He may well be top draw, but no one knows yet. The upcoming fight will shed some light.
I consider Kampmann a top name, especially when he knocked him out. That's all the statistics he needs for this fight.
I think Diaz if the better all around fighter here but why lay -240 when you can get a bunch of places that have -220 and at the Greek you have -210.
Paul Daley could well be the next Mike Tyson or or Anderson Silva. But I am just thinking from boxing perspective. 60 amateur fights with medals. Maybe 20 or so professional fights against some highly regarded journeymen. Many many rounds under his belt so people can see where his strengths and weaknesses are. this is generally the kind of background a boxer at Paul Daley's level would have. In boxing even a newcomer would be far better observed and known about than Daley. who is basically a mystery man with great natural gifts and tools, but with zero takedown defence. Which does not bode well for MMA. If one looks at the betting odds, very roughly 30% of the people willing to put money on it, think Paul Daley is going to win. and about 60% think Diaz is going to win. But anything can happen, and this fight has caught the public's imagination, it really is a must see fight of the year so far
You need to watch more of Daley if you're comparing him to Noons mate. Watch the Scott Smith KO and you'll see one of the most perfect examples of technical striking in MMA history. I still think Nick beats him though.
